Healing in the Atonement?

This entry is part 9 of 9 in the series Unsound Doctrines

New Apostolic Reformation’s (NAR) teachers claim they alone preach a unique (different) gospel, the ‘gospel of The Kingdom’ and part of their gospel is that while living on earth ALLphysical healing‘ is included/paid in the atonement.

First of all beloved, let us clarify that we believe in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit & believe that God heals today, but we also know the gospel of ‘salvation’ that the apostles preached was this:.

Rhema vs. Logos

Hace mucho tiempo cuando estábamos recién convertidos en nuestra iglesia nos enseñaron que había una diferencia entre las palabras griegas Logos y Rhema, ambas traducen ‘palabra’. Pero nos enseñaron que:

Rhema significaba una palabra “hablada fresca / viva”, y Logos significaba la Palabra de Dios “escrita”.

Mysticism- Ignatius of Loyola, Pt.1

This entry is part 3 of 9 in the series Mysticism

Most evangelicals would recognize & reject occult practices like mediums,  the Ouija board, etc. knowing the Bible condemns and calls this an abomination. But sadly thousands without knowing are embracing occult practices by accepting mystical Spiritual Exercises. As an ex-Catholic it breaks my heart to see evangelicals following Catholic saints or their mystical teachings.

It is very important to examine what is the spirit behind any spiritual practice 1 John 4:1 before we open the door & welcome them 2 Jn.1:10. Some people will say that what they are learning is in the Bible, but beloved please remember satan is a master of deception! Always check who were the mentors of that teacher, or where their doctrine came from. One of the most used mystic exercises belongs to Jesuit founder Ignatius of Loyola.

‘Unio Mystica’

This entry is part 7 of 9 in the series Unsound Doctrines

A few years back in a bible study group we were presented with The Truth Project, (1). I remember their eighth lesson was: “Unio Mystica: Am I Alone?”.  ‘Unio mystica’, as defined by presenter Mr. Tackett (a Calvinist), is the mystical union between God and man. I heard before the term used by mystics of the Catholic Church & also in New Age writings, but it was first time I heard the word from an ‘Evangelical’ teacher.  Now the term is becoming more & more common these days.

The Passion Translation

This entry is part 4 of 4 in the series Bible Versions

The Passion Translation (TPT) is a New Testament bible translation with Song of Songs, Psalms & Proverbs, made by New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) apostle Brian Simmons (who works under apostle Ché Ahn). Normally the Bible translations are written by teams of scholars who are very knowledgeable of the original languages. Brian Simmons is not a theologian, doesn’t have knowledge of Hebrew or Greek, he’s the only translator of this version & claims that every book and footnote was evaluated by respected scholars and 5 editors but curiously no names are given.

The name Passion he said, came from an angel named ‘Passion’ which he saw in one of his meetings & the Lord told him this ‘angel of passion’ is with his ministry.

The Manifested Sons of God

This entry is part 6 of 9 in the series Unsound Doctrines

“And we beseech you brethren, to know (G1492) them which labour among you…” 1 Th. 5:12

This is a distinctive Gnostic doctrine (attaining godhood) that came out of the Latter Rain Movement & was taught by William Branham, who also said that Jesus emptied Himself by pouring Himself into the church and that his church was now the fullness of God in bodily form.

Rhema vs. Logos

This entry is part 5 of 9 in the series Unsound Doctrines

A long time ago at my church, I was taught that there was a difference between the Greek words Logos and Rhema, both translate ‘word‘. I don’t know if that was a regular Christian teaching out pastor had or if it had to do because at the time he was being influenced by the ‘New Apostolic Reformation (NAR)’ teachers. But we were taught that:

  • Rhema meant a “fresh spoken/living” word, & Logos meant “written” word.
