Psalm 42

Reading or  Listening .  To the chief Musician, Maschil, for the sons of Korah.

Yearning for God in the Midst of Distresses

As the deer pants for the water brooks,
So pants my soul for You, O God.
My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When shall I come and appear before God?
3 My tears have been my food day and night,
While they continually say to me,
“Where is your God?”

Psalm 91

This entry is part 10 of 11 in the series Psalms

Do to the coronavirus crisis I have seen many false teachers lately & people in social media, quoting Psalm 91, like it is a protective amulet or a magic spell, even when many of these people that quote it have been disregarding God’s Word in their lives for many years. Sadly they try to get their comfort reciting words out loud to calm their minds & don’t realize what is the most important part that Psalm 91 is talking about, which will bring them the real peace & comfort they are looking for in their distressful times.

Psalm 25: Always seek God’s Guidance

This entry is part 4 of 11 in the series Psalms

Psalm 25 is a beautiful prayer that reminds us that God fights on our behalf, that He can guide us, teach us and instruct us if we ask Him. It reminds us that God can rescue us, protect us & keep us safe. God love us and is faithful in all His ways. If we live by faith (trusting Him) and we humble ourselves before God, He’ll answer us when we pray for His forgiveness, deliverance and protection.

“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise“. Psalm 51:17

“But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7

For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?1 Peter 4:17.

Psalm 23

This entry is part 1 of 11 in the series Psalms

We are going to use the same 4 steps mentioned previously, to study PSALM 23:

1/ Setting the context: (abc’s)

A)Author — The Holy Spirit inspired King David to write this psalm.

B)Background — When did the author live? In what culture? Born in 907 BC, he reigned as king of Israel for 40 years, dying at age 70 in 837 BC. He was a farm boy, a shepherd &  a musician, then became a warrior & a king. David had a heart for the Lord.

C) – Context — Book of Psalm, Chapter 23:1-6 The Christian sees in this Psalm a wonderful foreshadowing of “The Good Shepherd” Jesus Christ, (John 10) who gave His life for His sheep & watches over them even now.

For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. Today if ye will hear his voice, do not harden your heartPsalm 95:7-8
