The Book of James, Chapter 1: Read &/or listen from the Bible.
The Book of James has only 5 chapters. The writer of this letter was James a servant of God & half brother of Jesus. (Mat.13:55, Gal. 1:19). He was not a believer until after the resurrection of Jesus. (Jn.7:2-3, Acts 1:14, 1 Cor. 15:7, Acts 12:17). Another brother of Jesus who wrote a book was Jude.
This is considered the oldest book of the New Testament, written around AD 45-50.
Starting last Friday March 14th, same day of the total lunar eclipse & Purim, a mega storm just went eastward across America, threatening over 100 million people in 17 states with strong winds of 80mph, hail, about 80 tornadoes, flooding, accidents & the storm left at least 42 people dead and dozens injured. The winds also fueled some fires in several states. (There was also destruction of crops, animals & food supplies).
Through out the years there have been many organizations, religions & individuals, many of them gnostics, trying to sow doubts about the books of the New Testament or Jesus’ teachings.
We believers need to put it into actions what we learn in the Word of God, it is very important to apply God’s teachings to our daily way of living.
We just learned (Pt.1) that our hearts 1/ Are purified by God when we repent & confess our sins & 2/ Purity of heart happens by staying close to God. Mary had learned the most important thing which is to be close to Jesus, in His presence. And that this is more important than anything. We also find a very similar teaching in John 15: 1-7.
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God” Matthew 5:8.
“Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord” Hebrews 12:14.
I think that seeing God is the goal of every single believer, but then. . . are we really paying attention to our heart’s condition?
A few days ago I found this prophecy. Let us hear this message from Dumitru Duduman given to him in 1984, about the timing when the United States of America will be attacked & burned.
A Bible study on the book of 1st Timothy by pastor Larry Sarver from Calvary Chapel Palm City (a non-denominational Church). Not all Calvary Chapels teach sound doctrine these days, but this pastor does.
