Continuation . . .from Isaiah 60 Pt.1
11
Therefore, your gates shall be open continually;
they shall not be shut day nor night,
so that men may bring to you the wealth of the nations,
and that their kings may be brought.
12
For the nation and kingdom that will not serve you shall perish,
and those nations shall be utterly destroyed.
13
The glory of Lebanon shall come to you,
the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box tree together,
to beautify the place of My sanctuary;
and I will make the place of My feet glorious.
14
The sons also of those who afflicted you shall come bowing before you,
and all those who despised you shall bow themselves down at the soles of your feet;
and they shall call you, The City of the Lord,
the Zion of the Holy One of Israel.
15
Whereas you have been forsaken
and hated so that no man went through you,
I will make you an eternal excellency,
a joy of many generations.
16
You shall also suck the milk of the nations
and suck the breast of kings;
then you shall know that I, the Lord, am your Savior
and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.
17
Instead of bronze I will bring gold,
and instead of iron I will bring silver;
and instead of wood, bronze;
and instead of stones, iron.
I will also make your officers peace
and your exactors righteousness.
18
Violence shall no more be heard in your land,
nor devastation or destruction within your borders;
but you shall call your walls Salvation
and your gates Praise.
19
The sun shall no longer be your light by day,
nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you;
but the Lord shall be an everlasting light to you
and your God for your glory.
20
Your sun shall no more go down,
nor shall your moon wane;
for the Lord shall be your everlasting light,
and the days of your mourning shall end.
21
Then all your people shall be righteous;
they shall inherit the land forever,
the branch of My planting,
the work of My hands,
that I may be glorified.
22
A little one shall become a thousand,
and a small one a strong nation.
I, the Lord,
will hasten it in its time.
Verse 12. The people & the nations that don’t serve God & don’t believe in Jesus will perish & at the final judgment they will be destroyed. But where in the entire Bible have we ever seen that God exalts sin or rewards with abundance & His presence, a people that disobeys Him? or that blasphemes & rejects His son?
Please read verse 14. Now ask yourself -Does the Bible teach us to worship or bow down at the feet of humans? No, not even at the feet of angels, then to whom can we bow down to? According with the Bible only to God! Luke 4:8 & Rev.19:10.
I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you not do that. I am your fellow servant, and of your brothers who hold the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. Rev.19:10
Then who are they worshiping in verse 14? According with the Scriptures has to be Jesus.
Also notice it doesn’t say ‘Israel’ (or it’s earthly government), it says ‘they shall call you Zion’ (Jerusalem) which already existed in the time of Isaiah. But then why it says “and they shall call you,” like it is something new?
What many don’t seem to realize is that there are two Zions, or two Jerusalem, the natural/physical one, born of the flesh & the spiritual one, or spiritually born, made of the redeemed, the ones from all nations washed in the blood of the Lamb, who were called out of darkness into His marvelous light; 1 Peter 2:9. Which also same prophet Isaiah happens to mentions on Chapter 66, as a holy nation, that was born in one day.
This is the main reason why I don’t think Isaiah is talking about the secular Israel we see today. What it says in verses 11 & 18-22 we can also find in the book of Revelation, but here is talking about the New Jerusalem (New Zion):
For the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no more sea.
2 I, John, saw the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,
prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. . .
They shall be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God.
4 ‘God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. There shall be no more death.’
Neither shall there be any more sorrow nor crying nor pain, for the former things have passed away . . .
23 The city has no need of sun or moon to shine in it,
for the glory of God is its light, and its lamp is the Lamb.
24 And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light,
and the kings of the earth shall bring their glory and honor into it.
25 Its gates shall never be shut by day, for there shall be no night there.
26 They shall bring into it the glory and the honor of the nations.
So to me this chapter Isaiah 60 is talking about the spiritual Zion or New Jerusalem with her King, & the peoples of all nations will come to worship the Lord & bring Him presents. If you still prefer to believe Isaiah 60 is talking about the earthly, carnal state of Israel, then you will have to situated it at the end, when the church is gone and the remnant of Israel accepts the true Messiah Jesus Christ, when they call His name, because that hasn’t happen yet.
“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! 38 See! Your house is left to you desolate;(See c & d) 39 for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ” Matt.23:37-39
It is important that Christians study the whole counsel of the Word of God, in order to discern wrong doctrines. When we know what our God likes & dislikes, then we’ll be able to please Him. Things we should already know:
“The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.” Deut. 24:16
Even if the land belonged to them (many reject Jesus, the Seed of Abraham Gal.3:16):
“When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.” – Lev. 19:34
“But truly I am full of power by the Spirit of the Lord,
And of justice and might, To declare to Jacob his transgression
And to Israel his sin.
9 Now hear this, You heads of the house of Jacob
And rulers of the house of Israel, Who abhor justice
And pervert all equity,
10 Who build up Zion with bloodshed And Jerusalem with iniquity:
. . Therefore because of you Zion shall be plowed like a field, Jerusalem shall become heaps of ruins,” Micah 3:8-12
