New Apostolic Reformation’s<\/strong> (NAR) teachers claim they alone<\/strong> preach a unique (different) gospel, the ‘gospel of The Kingdom’<\/a> and part of their gospel<\/a> is that while living on earth ALL<\/strong><\/span> ‘physical healing<\/span>‘ is included\/paid in the atonement.<\/strong><\/p>\n

First of all beloved, let us clarify that we believe in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit & believe that God heals today<\/strong>, but we also know the gospel of ‘salvation’<\/strong> that the apostles preached was this:.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

‘that Christ died for our<\/strong> sins<\/strong><\/span><\/span> according to the Scriptures<\/strong>, <\/span> 4\u00a0<\/sup>and that He was buried<\/span>, and that He rose again the third day<\/span> according to the Scriptures<\/strong>‘<\/span> <\/span> <\/span>1 Cor.15:1-6<\/a>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It says Jesus died for our sins<\/strong> not for our sicknesses. Christians are born again<\/a> when they repent of their sins & believe<\/strong>\u00a0 in the redemptive sacrifice that the Son of God, Jesus Christ made on the cross. This faith is enough to be save<\/span> or be born again & it is also about spiritual healing<\/span>, eternal life, reconciliation with God through Jesus Christ. If a person repents & believe<\/strong> in Jesus but doesn’t believe in physical healing as part of the atonement<\/strong><\/span> we wont find in the Bible anything saying this person isn’t really save. But this is what most NAR teachers are preaching.<\/p>\n

For example, Bill Johnson<\/a> (see video clip) says ‘I refuse to create<\/span> a theology that allows<\/span> for sickness<\/strong><\/em>‘. Well, we consider that’s his right (even he allows himself to wear prescription glasses, got a surgery of the colon, his oldest son is 95% deaf, etc.), as well as it’s also his followers’ right to believe that, if they want to do so. But when he accuses publicly the rest of Christians that don’t agree with his theology<\/strong> have a ‘false gospel’,<\/strong> & misuses Gal. 1:8<\/a>,\u00a0 then . . .\u00a0 this to me, is something very, very serious!<\/strong> Other NAR teachers prefer to say that we (the rest of Christians) have an <\/strong>incomplete<\/span> gospel. <\/strong>
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Johnson mentions our ‘misinterpretation’ of Paul’s thorn in the flesh<\/strong><\/span> (2 Cor.12<\/a>) & he thinks it wasn’t a physical<\/strong> (flesh) alignment (but doesn’t explain what\u00a0 it was either).\u00a0 I don’t think anybody can be 100% certain of what exactly the apostle was referring to, but it was a physical<\/span> problem since he said it’s in the flesh<\/span>. I believe most probably it was about his eyes<\/span>, after his blindness see Gal.4:13& 15<\/a>, Gal.6:11<\/a>. But in context Paul uses there (2 Cor.12:9-10)<\/a>\u00a0 the Greek word G769<\/strong><\/a>=disease, infirmity<\/strong>, sickness, weakness;<\/em> the same word used in Matt.8:17<\/a> : “He Himself took our infirmities<\/strong> (G769<\/a>) <\/span><\/span>And bore<\/span> our sicknesses<\/span><\/span><\/em>” the verse these same preachers use to support their all<\/span> physical<\/strong> <\/span>healing<\/strong> in the atonement.<\/p>\n

Why will Paul also say few verses before: “If I must boast, I will boast in the things which concern my infirmity<\/span><\/strong><\/em> G769<\/strong><\/a>.” if we were not to get sick? 2 Cor. 11:30<\/a><\/p>\n

Furthermore we find that the Bible not only mentions Paul’s thorn in the flesh<\/span>,\u00a0 or Paul stating that\u00a0 “. . our outward man is <\/span>perishing<\/strong><\/span><\/em>. . .”\u00a0 2 Cor. 4:16 , 1 Cor. 15:53<\/a>, but it also mentions about Timothy ‘ frequent<\/span> illnesses <\/span><\/span><\/em>G769<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/strong>‘, 1Tim.5:23,<\/a> & other saints getting sick (2 Tim.4:20<\/a>). . . Why? if according to NAR all<\/strong> physical healing was in the atonement ?!<\/p>\n

We also can notice that James 5:14 <\/a>say to ask ‘<\/span>prayer<\/span>‘<\/strong> for healing<\/span>, from the elders of the church but it doesn’t say to ‘Declare, Confess or Claim<\/strong><\/em>‘ your healing like NAR preachers teach us to do. The Scriptures also say we’ll have no more death, sorrow, pain in heaven<\/strong> Rev.21:4<\/a>. It doesn’t mention that it will happen here on earth.<\/p>\n

We don’t agree with either of the two extremes<\/strong><\/span>, on one side<\/span> the NAR, Word of Faith (both originated from Latter Rain<\/a> movement\/Third wave), etc. that teach that that all<\/span> sickness is from sin\/devil<\/strong>-since we know there is also sickness caused by mistakes we do, by bacteria in the food, genetic modifications in food change, chemicals, pesticides, Electromagnetic radiations in the environment, etc.- Nor we agree with the other side<\/span> of the coin that teaches that all sickness comes from God<\/strong> & He always uses it to punish<\/strong> His children<\/span>. If God causes blasphemers\/slanderers<\/strong> to be mute or loose their voice, like some people in this last group teach, then we wouldn’t have so many false teachers, or false prophets today & there wouldn’t be any apostasy or any need for warning of wolves in sheep clothing, etc. Think about it!<\/p>\n

I believe (and this is just my humble opinion according with what I read from the Scriptures) that any sickness or physical<\/strong> alignment caused<\/span> by the devil or demonic<\/strong> influence because of our sin <\/strong>(spiritual problem<\/span>),<\/strong> was paid by Jesus on the cross<\/strong>, when we genuinely repent & invite Him in our hearts, that sickness is gone<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

But I also think that there are many diseases today that are caused by toxins, stress, contamination of our air, water, food chain (e.i. meats full of hormones & antibiotics, cows that aren’t fed with grass, pesticides & chemicals contaminating our food, pathogens), man-made viruses, etc. sickness <\/span>not caused by the enemy<\/span>, which we don’t necessarily have a ‘promise’ of healing<\/strong>. But in any case we should pray<\/strong>, or seek God for healing. <\/span>Also try to eat healthy & exercise. (Don’t expect to eat man-made processed food, full of chemical & food full of sugars, bathing with toxins & at the same time enjoy health).
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Let us please check the bible verses (Isaiah 53:5) they are using to support that healing is included in the atonement:<\/p>\n

4 Surely He has borne<\/strong> (H5375<\/a>=take away<\/strong>, carry off, forgive<\/em>) our griefs <\/strong><\/span>(H2483<\/a>=disease, sickness<\/span><\/em>), And carried<\/strong> (H5445<\/a><\/span>) our sorrows <\/strong>(H4341<\/a>= pain, affliction physical or mental<\/span><\/em>); <\/span>Yet we esteemed Him stricken, <\/span>Smitten by God, and afflicted.<\/span><\/p>\n

5\u00a0<\/sup>But He was wounded for<\/strong> our transgressions<\/span>, <\/span>He <\/i>was\u00a0bruised<\/strong> for our iniquities<\/span>;<\/span>
\nThe chastisement<\/strong> for our peace<\/span> was upon Him, <\/span>And by His stripes we are<\/span> healed <\/span><\/strong>(H7495<\/strong><\/em><\/a>= Made whole<\/strong>, repaired, restored<\/strong><\/span><\/em>)” – Isaiah 53:4-5<\/a>
\n<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

If we read: ‘by His stripes we are made whole<\/span><\/em>‘<\/strong>, or we are restored<\/span><\/strong><\/em>, then the meaning doesn’t sound as physical<\/strong> healing any more but spiritual<\/strong> restoration which is more in context\u00a0 with the passage (spiritual sickness<\/strong>= transgressions, iniquities, sin, etc). But we also find a reference of this same prophecy (Hebrew) of Isaiah 53<\/strong> in the book of Matthew (in Greek):<\/p>\n

16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils<\/strong>: and he cast out<\/span> the spirits<\/strong> with his word, and<\/strong> healed<\/span><\/strong> all<\/strong> that were sick G2192<\/a><\/strong>..
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

17\u00a0<\/sup>that<\/strong> it might be <\/span><\/span>fulfilled<\/span> <\/span>which was spoken by Esaias the prophet,<\/strong> saying, Himself took<\/strong> (G2983<\/strong><\/a>=1.b.1- to take away<\/strong>, to remove<\/em>) our infirmities<\/span> (G769<\/em><\/a>= disease, infirmity, sickness, weakness<\/em>), and bare<\/strong> our<\/i> sicknesses<\/span> (G3554<\/em><\/a>= disease, sickness, malady<\/em>). Matthew 8:16-17<\/a>
\n<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Isaiah 53:4 was fulfilled in Jesus healing ministry<\/strong>, which was done before the cross or atonement<\/span>. Also verse 4 doesn’t say that He died for<\/strong><\/span> our infirmities and diseases<\/strong> but that He bore & carried them away<\/span>. He removed their sickness & healed them (during His ministry on earth, before the atonement, so this can\u2019t be made to be part of the atonement as a guarantee<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is also very important to consider that the Greek word used for ‘healing’<\/strong> is not limited<\/span> to physical<\/strong> healing: Luke 4:18<\/a> states that Jesus came \u201cto heal<\/span> the brokenhearted\u201d which is not referring to the heart (physical organ) but the emotional wounded. Also the healing<\/span> in Mt.13:15<\/a> is in reference to salvation<\/strong> (Jn.12:40; Acts28:27<\/a>). Same word for healing G2390<\/a> used to refer salvation in those verses is the same word used in Matthew 8:16-17<\/a>. & 1 Peter 2:24<\/a> .<\/span><\/p>\n

Beloved, I would love to have (while on earth) all<\/span> physical<\/strong> healing ‘included’ in the atonement!<\/strong> I really do, but this isn’t about what I want or I prefer<\/strong> to interpret according with my needs<\/strong><\/span>, (that’s to have itchy ears, 2 Tim.4:3<\/a>), but it is ALL about what the Word of God is really saying to us & about being faithful not adding words or promises He didn’t make.<\/p>\n

The Bible doesn’t mention acquiring immortality<\/strong> while on earth, like this NAR Movement also teaches, but it is clear that believers have a blessed hope in a near future<\/strong><\/span> because we are told that those who are alive when He comes to take His Church, that our bodies<\/span> will be transformed<\/strong> \u2013 replacing our corrupted<\/strong> mortal<\/strong> physical bodies with an eternal spiritual body<\/span> (1 Cor 15:35-58<\/a> & 1 Thess. 4:16<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Sadly, this teaching about all<\/strong> of the physical healing included in the atonement, is causing many brethren to stumble, when they don’t get healed they think God doesn’t love them, or think\u00a0 they aren’t doing things right\u00a0 or don’t have enough faith. I know of some who got into Hebrew Roots movement thinking God wasn’t healing them because they weren’t obeying the Mosaic Law (& dietary laws) & for that reason were not receiving\u00a0 the promised<\/strong> blessings. Many Christians tired of this ‘Charismania’ (faking\/abusing of the gifts) of these movements like NAR, have gone to the other extreme into the errors of Calvinism, Adventists, Hebrew Roots, etc.<\/p>\n

We also see followers of the NAR & Word of Faith Movements going to the extremes of not even asking God for healing<\/strong> (or anything else for that matter), but claiming<\/strong> possession of everything they want<\/span>. Some even telling Almighty God what to do: “Lord we won’t take a NO<\/strong> for an answer!<\/em>” when holding unto that wrong ‘promise’ of healing already paid<\/span>, prophesying & declaring publicly healing for a friend sick with cancer, (who sadly die later). These things only cause confusion & doubts to many in the faith & cause blasphemers to mock God!<\/p>\n

“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit<\/span>;<\/span> a broken and a contrite heart<\/span><\/strong>, <\/span><\/span>O God, You will not despise<\/span><\/span>” Psalm 51:17<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

We really need to be very careful about the doctrines (or teachings)<\/strong> that we are accepting in our life, because they will dictate<\/strong> our actions<\/span>. Sound doctrine<\/a> is very important for salvation<\/strong> & also for the spiritual health<\/strong> <\/span>of the growing believer.<\/p>\n

Beloved, do not believe<\/strong> every spirit<\/span>, but test<\/span> the spirits<\/strong>, whether they are of God<\/strong>; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. <\/span> 2\u00a0<\/sup>By this you know<\/span> the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh<\/strong> is of God, 1 John 4:1-2<\/a><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A Litmus test to try the spirits<\/span><\/strong> (1 John 4:1-2<\/a>) behind any teaching to see if they are from God, is to find out:<\/p>\n

1\/<\/strong> Do they confess the incarnation<\/span> of Jesus Christ, God made flesh<\/span>!<\/strong> (1 Tim.3:16<\/a>, John 20:28<\/a><\/span><\/span>,Jn.1:1,14<\/a>,) & the same Jesus of the Scriptures 2 Cor.11:4<\/a>.<\/p>\n

2\/\u00a0 <\/strong>The Gospel<\/a> of salvation <\/strong>that is being preached (Gal.1:6-10<\/a>,).\u00a0 – (As we mentioned at the beginning, these group that add to the gospel that ‘all healing is included in the atonement’ also preach the ‘‘Gospel of The Kingdom<\/a>‘, which themselves say is a different gospel<\/strong> from the formally accepted gospel of Salvation). <\/span><\/p>\n

The incarnation of Jesus Christ<\/strong>:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus was both 100% God & 100%<\/span> man in His earthly<\/strong> ministry. It is not a coincidence that Mormons, Jehovah’s Witness, Hebrew Roots, etc. including the NAR & Word of Faith movements, teach Gnostic doctrines & attack the Divinity o Jesus Christ (our Rock & Foundation), NAR is just more subtle than the other ones, but they don’t believe either that Jesus was 100% God<\/span>, but only 100% man while on earth<\/strong> (‘Kenosis’ Greek work for ’empty’, is a Gnostic<\/strong> doctrine taken from Phil. 2:7, that teaches Jesus was born only a man<\/span><\/a> and remained so<\/strong> until his baptism <\/strong>(were He received the anointing). –<\/strong>S<\/span>ee study notes of a NASB Study Bible<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Phil. 2:7<\/a> NKJV<\/em>–\u00a0 ‘But made Himself of no reputation<\/strong>, taking the form of a bondservant, and<\/i> coming in the likeness of men’. <\/span><\/p>\n

(Phil. 2:7<\/a>) The Passion Translation <\/em>(The NAR’s Bible).- ‘Instead he emptied<\/span><\/span> himself of his outward glory by reducing himself to the form of a lowly servant. He became human!’ <\/strong>
\n<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

According to NAR teachers<\/strong> like Bill Johnson, God can limit or change His nature. He teaches that Jesus got the Spirit of God (the anointing) at His baptism<\/span>, but He emptied himself of Divinity<\/strong> a misinterpretation of Philippians 2:7<\/a>, or Kenosis, see more here<\/a>), and did miracles as a man<\/strong> operating in the gifts of the Spirit, died as a man<\/strong>, & had to be born again<\/strong> at His resurrection.<\/p>\n

(This is plain heresy, check Video<\/a>, notice also the hand signs (devil<\/a> sign) of Todd White. This is taught by NAR teachers & Word of Faith teachers<\/a>). Aand like all teachers from the New Apostolic Reformation & Word of Faith Movements, Todd White\u00a0 denies Jesus came as God<\/span>!<\/strong><\/p>\n
