<\/p>\r\n

All<\/strong> moves of the Spirit, all insights, all \u201cwhispers in the heart\u201d should be checked against Scripture<\/strong>. There is a reason why God besides sending us His Son & His Holy Spirit, also gave us His written Word<\/strong><\/span>. How can we know for sure something is from God? By reading the Bible.<\/p>\r\n

Our final<\/span> authority<\/strong> in doctrine & practice<\/span> is the Word of God<\/strong>, not men<\/span>. If any doctrine, manifestation, spiritual exercise (activation), etc. is NOT in the Scriptures, then beloved we should avoid it, we don’t need it! <\/strong>Be very careful with those teachers who say they have new<\/span> revelations from God! 2 Tim. 3:16-17<\/a><\/strong> says:<\/p>\r\n

<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

All Scripture <\/strong>is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine<\/span>, for reproof, for correction<\/strong>, for instruction in righteousness<\/strong>, 17\u00a0<\/sup>that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly<\/span> equipped for every<\/strong> good work.<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

God says that in the Scriptures we already have ALL we need<\/strong> to be complete & equipped<\/span> for every good work. But even that we are not cessationists & we believe God can talk to us by giving us a dream or by impressing things into our hearts, we also know for sure it won’t<\/strong> be to<\/span> change biblical doctrine<\/span>,<\/strong> it will be in full agreement with His Word, it will be on a personal level, meaning it doesn’t have same authority as inerrant Scripture<\/strong><\/span>, & also needs to be tested to see<\/strong> if it comes from God.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

\u201cBeloved, believe <\/strong>not<\/span> every spirit<\/span><\/strong>, but try<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>(G1381<\/em><\/a>=<\/em> distinguish by testing, examine<\/span><\/strong><\/span>, prove, scrutinize<\/em>) the spirits <\/strong>whether they are of God<\/span>\u201d 1 John 4:1<\/a><\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

\u00a0I’m writing this post not to criticize if you or a loved one is embracing some of these doctrines of the Latter Rain Movement,<\/strong> but on the contrary I come to you humbly, because several years ago I was also one of those who embraced some of their doctrines not knowing well all of their theology<\/span>, not knowing well at the time the Scriptures<\/span>, & also because their deception is very subtle<\/span>. They also prey on the young who are the future of the Christian Church! So out of love for my brethren I think the warning of danger is needed, since many souls are at stake.<\/p>\r\n

Our congregation got involved with some of these Latter Rain <\/strong>teachers & we heard from them the emphasis they put on the manifestations or ‘encounters<\/em>‘<\/strong> with God<\/strong>, these were first or more important than doctrine<\/span> or the Word of God<\/strong>. They say because \u201cthe letter kills<\/strong>, but the Spirit gives life<\/em>\u201d.\u00a0 They suggested that the word \u2018letter\u2019 here, means the study of the Scriptures<\/strong>. But this is false!!<\/p>\r\n

They are taking out of context & twisting 2 Corinthians 3:6<\/strong>.<\/strong> That phrase doesn\u2019t mean to put aside the Word of God and rely on sensations or feelings, that contradicts the Bible! The verse in context is talking about the letters written on tablets of stone<\/span><\/strong>, the law<\/span> of the Old Covenant, that condemns us of sin<\/strong> (which waves is death -kills-, Rom. 6:23), the law (even good) could not saved us but only gave us a death<\/strong> sentence<\/strong>. That is the reason we needed a Savior, Jesus Christ. Now we believers are ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter (law)<\/strong> but of the Spirit.<\/p>\r\n
