{"id":2496,"date":"2015-05-10T12:44:10","date_gmt":"2015-05-10T16:44:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cristolaverdad.com\/?p=2496"},"modified":"2024-07-24T12:52:57","modified_gmt":"2024-07-24T16:52:57","slug":"the-importance-of-the-heart-pt-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cristolaverdad.com\/?p=2496","title":{"rendered":"The importance of the Heart, Pt.2"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"seriesmeta\">This entry is part 2 of 6 in the series <a href=\"https:\/\/cristolaverdad.com\/?series=importance-of-the-heart\" class=\"series-39\" title=\"Importance of The Heart\">Importance of The Heart<\/a><\/div><div align=\"LEFT\">\u00a0Jesus explains the parable and says <strong>the Seed is the Word of God<\/strong>, also Jesus is the Word of God, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John%201%3A1%2C14&amp;version=AKJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">John 1:1,14<\/a> , but he doesn&#8217;t focus on the sower but on the way each ground respond to the seed. Any believer who shares the Word of God or shares the good news of the gospel is the sower.<\/div>\n<div align=\"LEFT\"><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div align=\"LEFT\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/-2It0Be9cQQk\/VADdZy2c00I\/AAAAAAAAAXk\/VVBFYQhSD3A\/s1600\/gdgrnd5.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"401\" height=\"300\" \/><\/div>\n<div align=\"LEFT\"><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div align=\"LEFT\">All the 4 hearts (grounds) heard the Word of God, but the <span style=\"color: #993300;\">HARDEN heart<\/span> that was all <strong>hard<\/strong> <strong>like a sideway<\/strong> heard the word, but<strong> is so hard that the seed doesn&#8217;t penetrate it,\u00a0 doesn&#8217;t received it<\/strong><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div align=\"LEFT\">The other <strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">3 hearts<\/span> received the word, but in different ways:<\/strong><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div align=\"LEFT\"><strong>I\/<\/strong> <strong>The shallow<span style=\"color: #800000;\">\u00a0heart<\/span><\/strong> (part hard &amp; part soft)\u00a0 believed for a while, but it doesn&#8217;t last. Believers that start up well but because they had no root, they withered away.<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div align=\"LEFT\"><strong>II\/ The <span style=\"color: #993300;\">heart<\/span> with thorns<\/strong> is a believer, (soft heart but affected by surroundings) but he\/she is too <strong>busy<\/strong> with cares of this world, <strong>doesn&#8217;t spend enough time with the Lord<\/strong> &amp; because of that he\/she doesn&#8217;t bring fruit <strong>to maturity,<\/strong> this means they may give some fruit but it falls to the ground before is mature, so is lost<strong>.<\/strong>\u00a0 Many Christians are in this category, their hearts are good, but the problem is they are too busy or they listen to wrong doctrine.<\/div>\n<div align=\"LEFT\"><\/div>\n<div align=\"LEFT\">Many are eager to serve the Lord before learning the Word, so they try to &#8216;work&#8217; on their own, without the Lord. Some may even try to witness to at least &#8220;x&#8221; amount of people, thinking that this will get them somehow on the &#8216;safe side&#8217;, but sadly they are deceiving themselves, (Jehovah&#8217;s Witnesses work very hard to witness to others but that won&#8217;t take them to heaven, many unsaved people do charity works, but that doesn&#8217;t save them), the fruit from our hearts is much more than that.\u00a0Many read this parable &amp; understand its meaning but miss <strong>the main reason of <span style=\"color: #800000;\">why or how<\/span> we give <span style=\"color: #800000;\">fruit:<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<div align=\"LEFT\"><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div align=\"LEFT\">\u00a0&#8220;As the branch <strong>cannot bear fruit of itself<\/strong>, <span style=\"color: #800000;\">except<\/span> <strong>it <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #800000;\">abide <\/span>in the vine<\/strong>; no more can ye, <strong>except ye <span style=\"color: #800000;\">abide in me<\/span>.<\/strong> I am the vine, ye are the branches: <strong>He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">without me ye can do nothing<\/span><\/strong>&#8221; (<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20170326044445\/http:\/\/king-james-bible-1611.com\/BibleText.aspx?bibleid=43001001\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">John 15:4-10<\/a>).<\/div>\n<div align=\"LEFT\">\n<div align=\"LEFT\"><\/div>\n<div align=\"LEFT\">&#8211; <strong>Abides<\/strong>= Strong&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bibletools.org\/index.cfm\/fuseaction\/Lexicon.show\/ID\/G3306\/mimetes.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"># G3306<\/a>, to remain,<strong> to continue<\/strong> to be present, to survive, to live, to remain as one.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div align=\"LEFT\"><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div align=\"LEFT\"><strong>The branches cannot give fruit on their own<\/strong>, <span style=\"color: #800000;\">the vine is the source of the fruit not the branches<\/span>. The branches without the vine cannot give fruit but will <strong>dry up<\/strong>. The branch is just an instrument &amp; when is full of the vine&#8217;s sap it will produce fruit without effort. In other words the fruit is a consequence of the vine&#8217;s sap infilling the branch.\u00a0 Remember<strong> it isn&#8217;t us, it&#8217;s all His work in us<\/strong>, we got nothing to boast about.<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"LEFT\"><strong>III\/<\/strong> And Finally, Only 1 of the 4 is a <strong>good<span style=\"color: #993300;\"> heart<\/span><\/strong> and <span style=\"color: #800000;\">bears fruit with patience<\/span>. Believers that spend time in their relationship with the Lord &amp; are learning the Word &amp; to be led by the Holy Spirit to do His will, and because of that, they produce fruit. <strong>A fruitful Christian is one who is able to bear fruit to bless others. Many focus on\u00a0 &#8216;works&#8217;\u00a0 <\/strong>but unbelievers also have works<strong>. <\/strong>Some others do it for the wrong reasons:<strong> &#8220;<\/strong><em><span id=\"en-AKJV-23924\" class=\"text Matt-23-5\">But all their works <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">they do<\/span> for<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong> to be seen<\/strong><\/span> of men&#8221; <\/span><\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/biblia.com\/bible\/Matthew23.5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span id=\"en-AKJV-23924\" class=\"text Matt-23-5\">Matt. 23:5<\/span> <\/a><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div align=\"LEFT\">Jesus said &#8220;<em>Therefore <span style=\"color: #800000;\">by their fruits<\/span> you will know them<\/em>&#8221; (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Matthew+7%3A15-20&amp;version=NKJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Matt. 7:20<\/a>). Jesus was talking here mainly about false teachers &amp; false prophets.\u00a0 He didn&#8217;t say by they <strong>works<\/strong> you will know them,<strong> but by their fruits, <\/strong>their<strong> fruits are their<span style=\"color: #800000;\"> actions &amp; words.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong> <strong>The work of faith is obedience<\/strong>, but it is faith which works <strong>by love<\/strong> (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblestudytools.com\/kjv\/galatians\/5-6.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gal.5:6<\/a>), true faith is active, not passive, because it is perfected or completed by our actions (James 2:22).<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div align=\"LEFT\"><strong>Checking our fruits:<\/strong> Are we offending God with the things we say &amp; do? are we repenting &amp; asking for forgiveness? are we lying? are we money hungry? are we using people for our benefit or are we freely serving them? are we doing works to gain favor, or to get a position? are we proud? Is people seeing the <strong>fruit of the Spirit<\/strong> in us? &#8230; and the main one, <strong>are we\u00a0 <\/strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">loving<\/span><strong> God &amp; others?<\/strong><\/div>\n<div align=\"LEFT\"><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div align=\"LEFT\">&#8216;<em>But the<span style=\"color: #800000;\"> fruit<\/span> of the Spirit is <strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">love<\/span>, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance<\/strong>: against such there is no law<\/em>&#8216;. <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20240122214404\/https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Galatians-5-22\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gal. 5:22<\/a>.<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div align=\"LEFT\"><\/div>\n<div align=\"LEFT\"><strong>See examples in the bible of each kind of ground\/<span style=\"color: #993300;\">heart<\/span>:<\/strong><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div align=\"LEFT\">Sideway- <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20221230021255\/https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Acts-26-28\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Acts 26:28<\/a><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div align=\"LEFT\">Rocky soil- <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+6%3A51-67&amp;version=AKJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">John 6:51-67<\/a><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div align=\"LEFT\">Thorns- <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Luke+18%3A18-23&amp;version=AKJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Luke18:18-23<\/a><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div align=\"LEFT\">Good soil- Acts 10<\/div>\n<div align=\"LEFT\"><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>By this parable we can learn that:<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">1.<\/span> The condition of our heart (4 kind of grounds) determines if we <strong>receive salvation<\/strong>. (God doesn&#8217;t want anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20240207084552\/https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/2-Peter-3-9\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2 Peter 3:9<\/a>).<\/div>\n<div align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">2.<\/span> Our heart&#8217;s condition affects our ability to <strong>understand and receive the Word of God<\/strong>. (<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20200805121815\/https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Mark-6-52\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mark 6:52<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20240717071037\/https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Mark-8-17\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">8:17<\/a>).<\/div>\n<div align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">3.<\/span> The condition of our heart affects our<strong> spiritual growth &amp; fruit.<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20240416194939\/https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Luke-8-15\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Luke 8:15<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220903195604\/https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Mark-4-20\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mark 4:20<\/a>)<\/div>\n<div align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">4.<\/span> Our heart&#8217;s condition affects also our <strong>ability to see with our spiritual eyes &amp; to hear with our spiritual ears<\/strong>. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Matt.13%3A15%3B+Mark+8%3A17-19%3B+Acts+28%3A26-27&amp;version=AKJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Matt.13:15; Mark 8:17-19; Acts 28:26-27<\/a>)<\/div>\n<div align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">5.<\/span> Because all of the things mention above,<span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong> the condition of our heart affects our relationship with God.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/span>(See also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Prov.28%3A14%3B+Prov.21%3A2%3B+1+Samuel+16%3A7%3B+Lucas+10%3A27&amp;version=AKJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prov.28:14; Prov.21:2; 1 Samuel 16:7; Lucas 10:27<\/a>)<\/div>\n<div align=\"LEFT\"><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div align=\"LEFT\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Ephesians%204%3A18&amp;version=AKJV;YLT;RVR1960;MEV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ephesians 4:18<\/a>: &#8216;having the <strong>understanding darkened<\/strong>, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, <strong>because of<\/strong> the blindness (<a href=\"http:\/\/studybible.info\/strongs\/G4457\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Strong #4457<\/a>= callousness, blindness, <strong>hardness) of their heart<\/strong>&#8216;.<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div align=\"LEFT\"><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div align=\"LEFT\">The Word of God tells us the importance of guarding our hearts <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20240629222411\/https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Proverbs-4-23\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Proverbs 4: 23<\/a> &#8216;<strong>Keep (guard) thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life<\/strong>.&#8217;\u00a0 We also see in the Parable that to the believer only it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God, we were blessed with\u00a0 eyes that see: and with ears that hear. ( God opened our spiritual eyes &amp; ears, when we repented &amp; were born again). We noticed the Lord emphasized about the way we HEAR His Word (spiritual truth).<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&#8221; <strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Take heed therefore <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">how ye hear<\/span>:<\/span><\/strong> <em>For <strong>whoever has, to him more will be given<\/strong>; and whoever does not have, even what he seems to have will be taken from him<\/em>&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20240704135326\/https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Luke-8-18\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Luke 8:18<\/a>.\u00a0 Whoever has what? &#8230;\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Faith<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Romans%2012%3A3&amp;version=AKJV;NKJV;RVR1960;MEV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rom.12:3<\/a>), spiritual gifts from God (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblestudytools.com\/kjv\/matthew\/passage\/?q=matthew+25:14-30\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Matt. 25:28-29<\/a>),\u00a0 spiritual eyes to see &amp; spiritual ears to hear God&#8217;s teachings.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div align=\"LEFT\">We can pray for our brethren &amp; ourselves that the Lord would reveal anything in our hearts, that hinders our relationship with Him, so we can repent &amp; ask for a cleansing of heart.\u00a0 And also we can pray before witnessing to the unbelievers, that the Lord could prepare and soften their hearts, so they can receive the Word of God, understand it\u00a0 &amp; get saved.<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div align=\"LEFT\"><\/div>\n<div align=\"LEFT\">In Jesus Christ&#8217;s Love, to whom be the glory forever.
