Our first parents, being seduced by the subtlety and temptation of Satan, sinned in eating the forbidden fruit. This <strong>their sin, God was<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> pleased<\/span>,<\/strong> according to His wise and holy counsel, to permit, having <strong>purposed to order it to His own glory.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>II. By this sin they fell from their original righteousness and communion with God, and <strong>so became dead in sin<\/strong>, and wholly defiled in all the faculties and parts of soul and body.\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211; Westminster Confession of Faith, Chapter 6 (Calvinist Catechism).<\/p>\n<p>John Calvin r<span class=\"text\">egarding the lost : \u201cit was <strong>his<\/strong> <strong>good<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> pleasure<\/span> to doom to destruction<\/strong>&#8221; (Institutes of the Christian Religion, III:xxi,7.)<i><\/i><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>But the Word of God says:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cFor <strong>I have <span style=\"color: #993300;\">no<\/span> <span style=\"color: #993300;\">pleasure<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\"> in the death<\/span> of him that dieth, <strong>saith the Lord GOD<\/strong>: wherefore <strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">turn<\/span> <em>yourselves<\/em>, <span style=\"color: #993300;\">and live<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\"> ye<\/span>.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Ezekiel-18-32\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eze. 18:32,<\/a>&#8211;\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Ezekiel-33-11\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ezekiel 33:11<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>R.C. Sproul wrote in his book &#8216;Chosen by God&#8217; pg. 15, that anyone who doesn&#8217;t agree with his Calvinistic belief (as expressed in the Westminster Confession of Faith) about predestination &#8211;<strong>God&#8217;s determination of ALL events<\/strong>&#8211; then he should be a &#8216;<em>convinced <span style=\"color: #993300;\">atheist<\/span><\/em><span style=\"color: #993300;\">&#8216;<\/span>. To Calvinists <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">God&#8217;s determination<\/span> is God&#8217;s <strong>sovereignty<\/strong>. But Sproul doesn&#8217;t seem to understand that many &#8216;Christians&#8217; agree with him that God&#8217;s Sovereignty (supreme Power &amp; Authority) is an essential part of God&#8217;s Attributes, but at the same time we completely disagree with <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">his <strong>interpretation<\/strong><\/span> of that sovereignty. We don&#8217;t question God (like some of them like to point out), we just question the Calvinistic interpretation.\u00a0 In pg. 26 he states \u201c<em>If He decides to allow something, then in a sense <\/em><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em>he is foreordaining it<\/em>.<\/span>\u201d\u00a0 Sproul also repeats the words of Jonathan Edwards, by saying &#8220;<em>What God permits,<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> he decrees<\/span> <\/strong>to permit<\/em>&#8221; including sin. In other words God&#8217;s permission is willing.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 285px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com\/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQO9eignWpVrOhjdDqn2MCfXc1fmWi4Arv1qZPJ2GVINY20GUDZ\" alt=\"\" width=\"275\" height=\"183\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">R.C. Sproul Sr.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Also, <a href=\"https:\/\/rc-sproul-jr.blogspot.com\/2016\/12\/rc-sproul-jr-charged-with-drunk-driving.html\">his son<\/a>, wrote that is God himself, who <em>\u201c<span style=\"color: #993300;\">introduced<strong> evil<\/strong><\/span> into this world<\/em>\u201d (Almighty Over All, p. 51).\u00a0 Regarding the origin of evil in the garden he stated: &#8216;<em>In fact, God acted according his strongest inclination; he acted on what he <strong>most wished<\/strong> to come to pass\u2014as he always does. <\/em><em>God<strong> wills all things<\/strong> that come to pass&#8230;<strong>God <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">desired<\/span> <\/strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">for man to<strong> fall into sin<\/strong><\/span><strong>&#8230;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">God created sin<\/span><\/strong><\/em>.\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20250710044038\/http:\/\/middletownbiblechurch.org\/reformed\/sprouljr.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">R.C. Sproul, Jr<\/a>., <em> Almighty Over All<\/em> , p. 54).<\/p>\n<p>Edwin Palmer: \u201c<em><strong>All things that happen in all the world<\/strong> at any time and in all history\u2014whether inorganic matter, vegetation, animal, man or angels (both good and evil ones&#8211;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong> come to pass because God ordained them<\/strong><\/span>, <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>Even sin<\/strong><\/span>&#8211; the fall of the devil from heaven, the fall of Adam, <strong>and every evil thought, word, and deed<\/strong> in all of history<\/em>.\u201d The Five Points of Calvinism, 1999<\/p>\n<p>Writings from<strong> Christians of the early church<\/strong>, before Calvinism existed, contradict their view:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cLet some <strong>suppose<\/strong>, from what has been said by us, that we say that <strong>whatever occurs happens by a fatal necessity,<\/strong> because it is foretold as known beforehand, this too we explain. We have learned from the prophets, and we hold it to be true, that punishments, <strong>chastisements, and good rewards, are rendered according to the merit of each man\u2019s actions<\/strong>. Now, <strong>if this is not<\/strong> so, <strong>but all things happen by fate<\/strong>, then neither is anything at all in our own power. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #993300; text-decoration: underline;\">For<strong> if<\/strong> it is predetermined<\/span> that this man will be good, and this other man will be evil, neither is the first one meritorious nor the latter man to be blamed.<\/span> And again, <b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">unless<\/span> the human race has the power of <\/b><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>avoiding evil and choosing good by<\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ff0000;\"> free choice<\/span><\/span><b>, they are not accountable for their actions<\/b>.\u201d -Justin Martyr<strong>, <\/strong>First Apology, XLIII<strong> (<span style=\"color: #333333;\">100-165<\/span> A.D.) &#8211;<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;But<strong> man<\/strong>, from the fact of his possessing a capacity of <strong>self-determination,<\/strong> brings forth what is evil, that is, accidentally; which evil is not consummated except you actually commit some piece of wickedness. For it is in regard of our desiring anything that is wicked, or our meditating upon it, that what is evil is so denominated.<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> <span style=\"color: #993300; text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Evil had no existence from the beginning<\/strong><\/span>,<\/span> but <span style=\"color: #993300;\">came into being subsequently<\/span>. <strong>Since man has<\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ff0000;\"> free will<\/span>, a law has been defined for his guidance by the Deity, not without answering a good purpose. <span style=\"color: #993300;\">For if man did not possess <strong>the power to will and not to will<\/strong>, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">why should a law be established?<\/span><\/span> For a law will not be laid down for an animal devoid of reason, but a bridle and a whip; whereas to man has been given a precept and penalty to perform, or for not carrying into execution what has been enjoined. For man thus constituted has a law been enacted by just men in primitive ages.&#8221; (Hippolytus, ( <strong>170-236<\/strong> AD) Against all Heresies, Bk. X, ch. xxix)<\/p>\n<p>More here: <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/FFvRGaszjPo?t=56s\">Early Church vs. Calvinism<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>Under God\u2019s <strong>sovereign rule<\/strong> and <strong>within his sovereign will, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">he allows man to make free choices<\/span>. . . .<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Free choice does not mean that God allows us to do whatever we freely choose without him intervening, <strong>nor does it mean that God allows us to do <\/strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">whatever we choose <strong>without consequences<\/strong><\/span>. <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20190702080231\/http:\/\/titusinstitute.com\/answeringquestions\/godsovfreechoice.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pastor Ron Jones, D.D. \u00a9 Titus Institute 2003<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Hyper Calvinism:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Many Christian theologians &amp; pastors consider <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jesus-is-savior.com\/Books,%20Tracts%20&amp;%20Preaching\/Printed%20Books\/Dr%20John%20Rice\/hypercalvinism.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hyper-Calvinism<\/a><\/strong> (Extreme Calvinism) the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Calvinist that <strong>believe in the <span style=\"color: #993300; text-decoration: underline;\">5 points<\/span><\/strong><\/span> of the Synod of Dort or <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20241107030111\/https:\/\/www.biblehelp.org\/tulip.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">TULIP<\/a>, &amp; the <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20250517032945\/http:\/\/www.middletownbiblechurch.org\/reformed\/westmins.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" class=\"broken_link\">Westminster Confession of Faith<\/a>. And consider that a Moderate Calvinist is the one who holds to 4 points or don&#8217;t believe in selective election.\u00a0 Also see: <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20240718210359\/https:\/\/www.biblehelp.org\/hyper.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Calvinism vs. Hyper-Calvinism<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>However Calvinist themselves consider that Hyper-Calvinism &#8216;<em>is the belief that <strong>God saves the elect through<\/strong> <strong>His sovereign will with little or no use<\/strong> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">of the methods<\/span> of bringing about salvation (such as evangelism, preaching, and prayer for the lost). To an <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>unbiblical<\/strong> fault<\/span>, the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>hyper-Calvinist over-emphasizes God&#8217;s sovereignty<\/strong><\/span> and under-emphasizes <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">man&#8217;s responsibility in the work of salvation<\/span><\/em>&#8220;. Quote from Calvinist page, Got a Question?<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know of anyone who considers himself a Hyper-Calvinist. No Calvinist like to be called extreme, so they <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/rogereolson\/2015\/02\/calvinism-and-evangelism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">evangelize<\/a><\/strong>, but while omitting their believe that the offer is limited only to a few (that when they say Jesus died for your sins they only mean the elect,). But they call Hyper or extreme, their Calvinist brother that is honest or consistent about their Calvinistic view on <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20240718194042\/https:\/\/www.biblehelp.org\/highdort.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" class=\"broken_link\">election<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 See more: <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/rogereolson\/2015\/04\/why-hyper-calvinism-is-consistent-calvinism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Why Hyper-Calvinism Is Consistent Calvinism.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Next are some examples of how some Calvinists over emphasize God&#8217;s Sovereignty but neglects God&#8217;s other attributes, His wisdom, His justice, His love and also His command to love others. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/1-John-4-7\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">1 John 4:7-9<\/a>.\u00a0 None of these men are called <strong>Hyper-Calvinist<\/strong> by other Reformers because they evangelize, but if this\u00a0 is not <strong>extreme<\/strong> I don&#8217;t know what else could be . .\u00a0 decide for yourself.<\/p>\n<p>Calvinist Gordon H. How can we as Christians stay silent about this matter or promote these teachers &amp; their theology?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"676\" height=\"380\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/v3TuyJK30tI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; encrypted-media\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>We know God&#8217;s character because He revealed Himself in His Word &amp; through His son Jesus who died for us. <span style=\"color: #993300;\">God is Holy &amp; undefiled<\/span>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">God is love<\/span>; <\/strong>and<strong> he that dwelleth\u00a0<\/strong>(<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20161009121811\/http:\/\/www.kingjamesbibledictionary.com:80\/StrongsNo\/g3306\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">G3306<\/a> = remain, stay, continue) in <span style=\"color: #993300;\">love<\/span><strong> dwelleth in God, <\/strong>and<strong> God in him<\/strong>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/1-John-4-16\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">1 John 4:16<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-MEV-28671\" class=\"text 1Cor-13-5\"><span id=\"en-MEV-28670\" class=\"text 1Cor-13-4\"><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">Love<\/span> <\/strong>suffers long and<strong> is kind<\/strong>; and from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity. <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Job-34-10\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">job 34:10<\/a><\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>For thou <em>art<\/em><span style=\"color: #993300;\"> not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall<strong> evil<\/strong><\/span> dwell with thee. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Psalms-5-4\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Psalms 5:4<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-MEV-22745\" class=\"text Hab-1-13\">Your eyes are<span style=\"color: #993300;\"> too pure to look on evil<\/span>,<\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"> <span class=\"text Hab-1-13\">and You cannot look on wickedness. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Hab+1%3A13&amp;version=KJV;MEV;NKJV;RVR1960\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Habakkuk 1:13<\/a><br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-KJV-30546\" class=\"text 1John-1-5\">This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that<span style=\"color: #993300;\"> God is light, and in him is <strong>no darkness<\/strong> at all<\/span>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/1-John-1-5\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">1 John 1:5<\/a><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-KJV-19767\" class=\"text Jer-32-35\">And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, <strong>to cause their sons and their daughters to pass<\/strong> through the fire unto Molech; <span style=\"color: #993300;\">which I commanded them<strong> not<\/strong><\/span>,<span style=\"color: #993300;\"> neither came it into my mind, that they should do <strong>this abomination<\/strong><\/span>, <strong>to cause Judah <span style=\"color: #993300;\">to sin<\/span>. <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Jeremiah-32-35\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jeremiah 32:35<\/a><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Baptist pastor Dave Hunt writes answering to Calvinist James White: \u201c<em>White contents that <strong>if God doesn\u2019t decree evil, \u2018evil has no purpose<\/strong>.\u2019 Evil must have a purpose? Yet evil comes from man\u2019s heart (Matthew 15:19) and \u2018<strong>worketh not<\/strong> the <strong>righeousness of God<\/strong>\u2019 (James 1:20). God allows evil and can prevent, control, or use it, even for good (Genesis 50:20), but <strong>He doesn\u2019t even tempt anyone to evil<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/James-1-13\/\">James 1:13<\/a>), <strong>much less decree it<\/strong><\/em>.\u201d (Debating Calvinism, p.327).\u00a0 &#8211; \u201cGod calls Israel\u2019s <strong>sin<\/strong> \u2018<strong>this abominable thing that I hate<\/strong>\u2019 (Jeremiah 44:4), yet we are called upon to believe that He foreordained it? We are to believe that God caused Israel to practice things that were abominations to Him?\u201d (Debating Calvinism, p.313)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Calvin<\/strong> writes: \u201cFor myself, I take another principle: Whatever things are done <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">wrongly and unjustly<\/span> by man, these very things are the right and just <span style=\"color: #993300;\">works of God<\/span><\/strong>. Martin<\/strong>,<\/em>who is openly gay and well-known for his gay-leaning interpretations &amp; has a book named &#8216;<em><strong>Slavery<\/strong> as Salvation<\/em>&#8216;. In his book &#8216;Sex and the Single Savior&#8217; he<span class=\"st\"> attempts to prove that<\/span> Jesus was a homosexual, he dedicated this book to Bart D. Ehrman (<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20190226192024\/https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Sex-Single-Savior-Sexuality-Interpretation\/dp\/0664230466\">pg. xii<\/a>). <em><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20160605013622\/http:\/\/www.worldmag.com:80\/2014\/04\/raining_on_bart_ehrman_s_easter_parade\">Bart D Ehrman<\/a><\/em> is also cited by MacArthur as translator of the Shepherd of Hermas.\u00a0 But Ehrman writes books debunking the Bible. There is a big difference between\u00a0 exposing error using Scriptures and hateful character assassination. We are not aiming at the messengers but at <strong>the message (doctrine)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Some when confronted with a <strong>doctrinal<\/strong> error that is taught by them, don\u2019t use the Word of God to defend it or support it, but often attack the character of the person that is showing the error, we don&#8217;t do that, not even when many of them do it to us.<\/p>\n<p>We avoid following men &amp; are very careful with their teachings, or their interpretations of the bible, (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Colossians-2-8\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Col. 2:8<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Mark-7-7_7-9\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mark 7:7-9<\/a>, etc).\u00a0 Our final<strong> authority<\/strong> in doctrine &amp; morals<strong> is the Word of God<\/strong>, not men (nor their catechisms or doctrines).\u00a0 We are not perfect, (no men is), the Lord Jesus Christ alone is our<i><b> <\/b><\/i>righteousness.
