These disciples worked all night without catching anything. They knew how to fish, for that was their livelihood, is like they were trying to go back to their normal life, but that night they didn’t catch anything.

This is the last recorded miracle of our Lord, and the only miracle recorded after His resurrection. This is extremely important because you and I have an interest in Christ’s ministry after His resurrection. We are not united to the child in Bethlehem (baby Jesus adoration), but to the risen, living, and glorified Christ at the right hand of the Father. That’s why His ministry after the resurrection is so vital to us. Noticed that the Lord most of the time uses what people have as the basis for His miracles. Also what He does, is in abundance. Many times our efforts at work, at home, or in ministry can leave us with empty nets as well. The Lord lets us experience unproductivity, frustrations, or failures—so that we draw closer to Him, and depend on Him, and not on our own means.
