20 Early on the first day of the week<\/span>, Mary Magdalene<\/strong> went to the tomb<\/strong> while it was still dark and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb<\/strong>. 2 So she came running to Simon Peter and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved<\/span>, and said to them, \u201cThey have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have put Him.\u201d<\/p>\n

3 So Peter came out with the other disciple and they went toward the tomb. 4 They both ran together, and the other disciple outran Peter and came to the tomb first. 5 Stooping down and looking in, he saw the linen cloths lying<\/span>. Yet he did not enter. 6 Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went inside the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying there, 7 and the cloth that was around His head, not lying with the linen cloths, but wrapped in a place by itself<\/span><\/span>.<\/span> 8 Then the other disciple, who came first to the tomb, went in also. He saw and believed<\/strong><\/span>. 9 For as yet they did not know the Scripture, that He must rise from the dead.<\/span><\/strong> 10 Then the disciples went away again to their own homes.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

“The first day of the week”, is a Sunday<\/span>. The Sabbath changed from Saturday to Sunday right after Jesus Christ rose from the dead. He was resurrected on a Sunday and from then on, believers have been gathering on the first day of the week (Acts 20:7<\/a>). The Sabbath belongs to the old covenant. Ex.20:8
\nAfter God created everything, He rested on the Sabbath. But now, the first day of the week started being called “The Day of the Lord<\/em>” (Rev.1:10) or “Dies Domini”<\/strong> in Latin, were the word ‘Domin<\/strong>go’ (Sunday in Spanish) comes from. Some early Church believers called Sunday also ‘the eight day<\/em>‘. It was a very special day.<\/p>\n
