Reading<\/a> Psalm 37<\/strong>, Listening<\/a> .\u00a0 A Psalm of David.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

1 Do not fret<\/strong> <\/span>because of evildoers, Nor be envious<\/strong> <\/span>of the workers of iniquity.
\n2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, And wither as the green herb.<\/p>\n

3 Trust in the Lord<\/span><\/strong>, <\/span>and do good<\/strong><\/span>; <\/span>Dwell in the land, <\/span>and feed on His faithfulness<\/strong>.<\/strong><\/span>
\n4 Delight<\/strong> yourself also in the Lord<\/strong><\/span>, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.<\/p>\n

5 Commit\u00a0 your way to the Lord<\/span>, Trust also in Him<\/strong>, And He shall bring it to pass.
\n6 He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday.<\/p>\n

7 Rest in the Lord,<\/span> and wait patiently for Him<\/span>; Do not fret<\/span> because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.
\n8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath <\/strong><\/span>; Do not fret<\/span>\u2014it only causes harm<\/span>.<\/p>\n

9 For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the Lord<\/span><\/strong>,<\/span> they shall inherit the earth.
\n10 For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more; Indeed, you will look carefully for his place, But it shall be no more.<\/p>\n

11 But the meek shall inherit the earth,\u00a0 And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace<\/span>.
\n12 The wicked plots against the just,\u00a0 And gnashes at him with his teeth.<\/p>\n

13 The Lord laughs at him, For He sees that his day is coming.
\n14 The wicked have drawn the sword And have bent their bow, To cast down the poor and needy, To slay those who are of upright conduct.<\/p>\n

15 Their sword shall enter their own heart, And their bows shall be broken.
\n16 A little that a righteous man has Is better than the riches of many wicked.<\/p>\n

17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, But the Lord upholds the righteous<\/span>.<\/strong>
\n18 The Lord knows the days of the upright, And their inheritance shall be forever.<\/p>\n

19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time<\/span>, And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.<\/span><\/strong>
\n20 But the wicked shall perish; And the enemies of the Lord, Like the splendor of the meadows, shall vanish.Into smoke they shall vanish away.<\/p>\n

21 The wicked borrows and does not repay, But the righteous shows mercy and gives.
\n22 For those blessed by Him shall inherit the earth ,But those cursed by Him shall be cut off.<\/p>\n

23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way.
\n24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

25 I have been young, and now am old<\/span>; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread.<\/span><\/strong>
\n26 He is ever merciful, and lends; And his descendants are blessed.<\/span><\/p>\n

27 Depart from evil, and do good<\/span>; And dwell forevermore.
\n28 For the Lord loves justice<\/strong>, And does not forsake His saints<\/span>; They are preserved forever, But the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off.<\/p>\n

29 The righteous shall inherit the land, And dwell in it forever.
\n30 The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom<\/span>, And his tongue talks of justice.<\/p>\n

31 The law of his God is in his heart;<\/span> <\/strong>None of his steps shall slide.
\n32 The wicked watches the righteous, And seeks to slay him.<\/p>\n

33 The Lord will not leave him<\/span> in his hand, Nor condemn him when he is judged.
\n34 Wait on the Lord, And keep His way<\/span>, And He shall exalt you to inherit the land;
\nWhen the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.<\/p>\n

35 I have seen the wicked in great power, And spreading himself like a native green tree.
\n36 Yet he passed away, and behold, he was no more; Indeed I sought him, but he could not be found.<\/p>\n

37 Mark the blameless man<\/span>, and observe the upright;<\/span> For the future of that man is peace.<\/span>
\n38 But the transgressors shall be destroyed together; The future of the wicked shall be cut off.<\/p>\n

39 But the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord<\/strong>; He is their strength<\/strong> in the time of trouble.<\/span>
\n40 And the Lord shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked, And save them, Because they trust in Him.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

This Psalm is addressed to man & it was written in the form of an acrostic in the original Hebrew.\u00a0 The clear message in this Psalm is to teach how we should respond when we see the evildoers prospering, even after we have been treated unjustly. It helps us to understand the importance of trusting & delight ourselves in the Lord, & committing our ways to Him no matter our circumstances.<\/p>\n

Main points:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1\/ Exhortation for the righteous (1-8).\u00a0 – Insights about getting rid of negative thinking & finding joy trusting God.
\n2\/\u00a0 Explains about the wicked and the righteous (9-26).\u00a0 – We all will reap what we sow (Gal.6:7-8).
\n3\/\u00a0 Counsel for the righteous (27-34).\u00a0 – God protects the righteous from the wicked.<\/p>\n

We are encourage to:<\/span><\/p>\n

– Trust in the Lord, & do good
\n– Feed on His faithfulness
\n– Delight in the Lord
\n– Commit our ways to the Lord
\n– Trust in Him
\n– Rest in Him & wait patiently for Him
\n– Depart from evil, and do good
\n– Wait on the Lord, And keep His ways<\/p>\n

When we see the wicked prosper, we are advised to:<\/span><\/p>\n

– Do not fret,
\n– Do not be envious,
\n– Cease from anger & forsake wrath; it only causes one harm.<\/p>\n

Life is about choices, but know that God will honor you when you do the right thing. Remember God is our strength in times of trouble, His hand will hold us up<\/strong>. Vengeance belongs to God, (Romans 12:19). He will turn the tables.\u00a0 The future of the righteous is peace, the wicked will reap destruction & will be cut off.<\/p>\n
