{"id":7466,"date":"2019-09-15T08:54:02","date_gmt":"2019-09-15T12:54:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cristolaverdad.com\/?p=7466"},"modified":"2025-03-12T14:52:45","modified_gmt":"2025-03-12T18:52:45","slug":"unio-mystica","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/cristolaverdad.com\/?p=7466","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Unio Mystica&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"seriesmeta\">This entry is part 7 of 9 in the series <a href=\"http:\/\/cristolaverdad.com\/?series=unsound-doctrines\" class=\"series-80\" title=\"Unsound Doctrines\">Unsound Doctrines<\/a><\/div><p>A few years back in a bible study group we were presented with <a href=\"http:\/\/cristolaverdad.com\/?p=500\">The Truth Project<\/a>, (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thebereancall.org\/content\/less-truthful-truth-project\">1<\/a>). I remember their eighth lesson was: &#8220;<em><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Unio Mystica<\/span>: Am I Alone<\/em>?&#8221;.\u00a0 &#8216;Unio mystica&#8217;<em>, <\/em>as defined by presenter Mr. Tackett (a Calvinist), is the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #800000;\"><strong>mystical<\/strong><\/span> <strong>union<\/strong> between God and man. I heard before the term used by mystics of the Catholic Church &amp; also in New Age writings, but it was first time I heard the word from an &#8216;Evangelical&#8217; teacher.\u00a0 Now the term is becoming more &amp; more common these days.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This &#8216;<em>mystical union<\/em>&#8216; is <strong>not<\/strong> taught in the Scriptures, but then, where it comes from?\u00a0 -We can find the origins of unio mystica teachings in<strong> Neo-Platonism, Kabbalah &amp; Gnosticism<\/strong>. But then . . . why are some &#8216;Christian&#8217; teachers pushing this doctrine in the Church, if isn&#8217;t biblical at all? Well, I believe it has been introduced in the Church to indoctrinate or <strong>initiate Christians<\/strong> into Jewish Mysticism or <strong>Kabbalah<\/strong>, the believe system of the soon coming\u00a0 Antichrist. (I will elaborate more in a future post in the Antichrist series).<\/p>\n<p>Jesuit theologian Karl Rahner predicted, \u201cThe Christian of the future will be a mystic or will not exist at all.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;<strong>Mysticism<\/strong>&#8221; is derived from the Greek <span lang=\"el\" title=\"Greek language text\">\u03bc\u03c5\u03c9<\/span>, <strong>meaning<\/strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\"> &#8220;I conceal&#8221;<\/span>,<sup id=\"cite_ref-SEP_Gelman_Mysticism_2-3\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup> and its derivative <span lang=\"grc\" title=\"Ancient Greek language text\">\u03bc\u03c5\u03c3\u03c4\u03b9\u03ba\u03cc\u03c2<\/span>, <i><a class=\"extiw\" title=\"wikt:\u03bc\u03c5\u03c3\u03c4\u03b9\u03ba\u03cc\u03c2\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wiktionary.org\/wiki\/%CE%BC%CF%85%CF%83%CF%84%CE%B9%CE%BA%CF%8C%CF%82\">mystikos<\/a><\/i>, meaning <strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">&#8216;an initiate&#8217;<\/span><\/strong>. The verb <span lang=\"el\" title=\"Greek language text\">\u03bc\u03c5\u03ce<\/span> has received a quite different meaning in the Greek language, where it is still in use. The primary meanings it has are &#8220;induct&#8221; and &#8220;<strong>initiate<\/strong>&#8220;. Secondary meanings include &#8220;<strong>introduce<\/strong>&#8220;, &#8220;make someone aware of something&#8221;, &#8220;train&#8221;, &#8220;familiarize&#8221;, &#8220;give first experience of something&#8221; &#8211; Wikipedia<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Unio Mystica found in <strong>Neo-Platonism &amp; Paganism<\/strong>:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Henosis is the word for<strong> mystical &#8220;oneness&#8221;, &#8220;union&#8221;<\/strong>, or &#8220;unity&#8221; in classical <strong>Greek<\/strong>. In <a title=\"Platonism\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Platonism\">Platonism<\/a>, and especially <a title=\"Neoplatonism\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Neoplatonism\">Neoplatonism<\/a>, the goal of henosis <strong>is union with<\/strong> what is fundamental in reality: <strong>the One<\/strong> (<a class=\"extiw\" title=\"wikt:\u03b5\u1f37\u03c2\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wiktionary.org\/wiki\/%CE%B5%E1%BC%B7%CF%82\">\u03a4\u1f78 \u1f1d\u03bd<\/a>), the Source, or <a title=\"Monism\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Monism\">Monad<\/a>. Wikipedia<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Greek philosopher of <span style=\"color: #800000;\">3rd century<\/span> Plotinus (founder of Neo-Platonism) taught that the <span style=\"color: #800000;\">supreme being, called The One<\/span>, could only be <strong>encountered<\/strong> (have union) in an irrational<strong> state of ecstasy<\/strong> (trance) achieved through certain progressive steps of mystical <strong>contemplation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yoga (which means union) is all about the facilitation of this union.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Unio Mystica is found in the <strong>Talmud &amp; Kabbalah<\/strong> (Jewish Mysticism)<\/span>:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kabbalah are occult mystical teachings<\/strong> aimed at achieving <span style=\"color: #800000;\">union with god<\/span> (their <a href=\"http:\/\/cristolaverdad.com\/?p=6870\">god<\/a>), in order to obtain godhood (Same lie that the serpent offered in the garden). They also teach that <strong>knowledge<\/strong> (<span style=\"color: #800000;\">gnosis<\/span>) <strong>of the mysteries<\/strong> of the divine realm are essential for this <b>union with god. <\/b>But their deity who according to them give them gnosis is the serpent. Teachings about the serpent are found in the <strong>Talmud and Kabbalah<\/strong>, were states the snake is holy. Kabbalists are worshipers of the Serpent of the garden in Genesis, which in the Bible is identified as Satan. The Zohar says:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cT<em>he <strong>Holy Serpent<\/strong> is the fountainhead, <strong>root<\/strong>, and essence for all <strong>God\u2019s<\/strong> sacred revelatory <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>light<\/strong><\/span><\/em>.\u201d<span id=\"yiv5667499488yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1474974827219_31480\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>In Talmud &amp; Kabbalah it has been a constant theme <strong>referring to the mystic who journeys<\/strong> to the divine realm of the <strong>7 Palaces of Paradise<\/strong> to the <strong>throne<\/strong> of God. These ecstatic journeys to the other-world\u00a0 appeared first in <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Babylonian<\/strong><\/span> sources.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u00a0 \u201cMa\u2019asei Merkavah, the first distinctly mystical movement in Jewish history, appeared in the late Hellenistic period, after the end of the Second Temple period following the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 C.E. It is a form of pre-Kabbalah Jewish mysticism, that teaches both of the possibility of making a <strong>sublime journey to God <\/strong>. . .\u00a0\u00a0 Merkava\/Hekhalot<strong> mysticism<\/strong> began <strong>after the<\/strong> <strong>end of the Second Temple period<\/strong> following the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 C.E., when the physical cult ceased to function.<\/p>\n<p>Hekhalot\u201d (<strong>palaces<\/strong>), derives from the divine abodes seen by the practitioner following a long period of ritual <strong>purification<\/strong>, <span style=\"color: #800000;\">self-mortification, and ecstatic prayer and <strong>meditation<\/strong><\/span>. In their visions, these <strong>mystics would enter<\/strong> into the celestial realms and journey through the <strong>seven stages of mystical ascent<\/strong>: the Seven Heavens and <strong>seven throne rooms<\/strong>&#8220;.\u00a0 . .\u00a0 The <strong>mantra-like repetitive<\/strong> nature of the liturgies recorded in many of these compositions seems meant to encourage further ascent. -religion.wikia.org.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b>Central to their practice is the &#8216;Tree of Life&#8217; which\u00a0 the <strong>mystic<\/strong> ascended symbolically trough <strong>meditation.\u00a0<\/strong>They have <a href=\"https:\/\/i.pinimg.com\/564x\/25\/e9\/97\/25e997ace61ef2ee3d33863bc23b0852.jpg\"><strong>7 lower paths or gates<\/strong><\/a>, (that also correspond to the chakras taught in yoga), &amp; 3\u00a0 higher paths or <strong>mystical<\/strong>\u00a0 steps to achieve <span style=\"color: #800000;\">union with the divine<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Unio Mystica <\/strong>or mystical union with God is found in <strong>Gnosticism<\/strong>:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i>&#8220;According to Masonic historian Albert Pike, <strong>Gnosticism was an offshoot of Kabalism<\/strong>\u2026. On page 626 of Morals and Dogma-the most esteemed work of Freemasonry-Pike states, \u201cThe <span style=\"color: #800000;\">Kabalah<\/span> is the <strong>key of the occult<\/strong> sciences; and the <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Gnostics<\/strong> were born of the Kabalists<\/span>\u201d<\/i> (p.249 The New World Order by Gary Kah).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bridal mysticism<\/strong> promoted by Catholics, New Apostolic Reformation, IHOP, etc (Latter Rain Movement)<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> <strong>is a Gnostic doctrine<\/strong><\/span>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Teresa described the soul&#8217;s intense desire for God in the language of erotic passion. In this, she belongs to a long tradition of mystical experience that is known as bridal mysticism . . .<\/p>\n<p>The symbolism of <strong>bridal mysticism is found already in early <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">gnostic<\/span> forms of Christianity<\/strong>, where the <strong>central sacrament<\/strong> is called the <strong>Bridal Chamber<\/strong>. There the <span style=\"color: #800000;\">feminine soul of the gnostic unites with the masculine spirit<\/span> and is in this way spiritualized, that is, liberated from the limitations of mundane existence.<\/p>\n<p>Related symbolism is found as well in the writings of the <span style=\"color: #800000;\">early Christian mystic <\/span><strong>Origen<\/strong> and the Neoplatonic <strong>mystic Plotinus<\/strong>. These three forms of mysticism are related and serve as the foundation for the history of mysticism in Christianity.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20250116060931\/https:\/\/aras.org\/selection_ecstasy.aspx\">ARAS<\/a> (Archive for Research in Archetypal Symbolism)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Bridal Chamber were the <span style=\"color: #800000;\">mystical union<\/span> occurs is also described in the <strong>gnostic<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gotquestions.org\/gospel-of-Philip.html\"><em><span class=\"book_title\">Gospel of Philip<\/span><\/em><\/a> as the means to attain <strong>Christhood<\/strong>, &amp; is also found in <strong>Gnostic<\/strong> gospel of Thomas.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Gnostic<\/span> <strong>Jews<\/strong> tried to infiltrate the early church, and were considered <strong>heretics<\/strong> by the apostles. The Gnostics valued what they <strong>experienced<\/strong> and what they <strong>learned from \u2018angels&#8217;<\/strong> over Holy Scripture, this is the main reason apostle Paul warned about angels in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Colossians+2%3A18-19%2C+galatians+1%3A8&amp;version=AKJV;NKJV;MEV\">Col. 2:18 &amp; Gal.1:8<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=2%20Cor.%2011%3A14&amp;version=AKJV;NKJV;MEV;RVR1960\">2 Cor. 11:14<\/a>. The <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nicolaism\">Nicolaitans<\/a> were also a <strong>Gnostic<\/strong> sect. Jesus said about them: &#8220;<span id=\"en-NKJV-30724\" class=\"text Rev-2-6\"><span class=\"woj\"><em><span id=\"en-NKJV-30733\" class=\"text Rev-2-15\">Thus you also have those who hold the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>doctrine<\/strong><\/span> of the<span style=\"color: #800000;\"> Nicolaitans<\/span>, which <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">thing<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #800000;\">I hate<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/span>&#8221; (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Revelation%202%3A6%2CRevelation%202%3A14-15&amp;version=AKJV;NKJV;RVR1960\">Rev.2:6, 14-15<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Union Mystica is found in <strong>Catholicism:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Mystic nun Teresa of Avila &amp; other Catholic mystics taught about Unio Mystica or <span style=\"color: #800000;\">marriage with Christ<\/span> through exercises of contemplative prayer &amp; meditation, but also the <strong>Bridal Chamber<\/strong> is taught along with Catholic <strong>adoration<\/strong> (Act of worship) of the <strong>Eucharist<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u00a0&#8216;We were talking about the <strong>Eucharist<\/strong> and I pointed out to him that as a baptized Christian, he was part of the Body of Christ. And when he received the Eucharist, he would be receiving the Body of Christ. Which meant that <strong>Christ\u2019s body would be inside<\/strong> him, while he was inside of Christ\u2019s Body. And I asked him, \u201cDoes that sound like anything else to you?\u201d. . . Without hesitation, he said, \u201c<span style=\"color: #800000;\">Marriage.<\/span>\u201d And he wasn\u2019t wrong.<\/p>\n<p>. . . <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Mass is our wedding banquet!<\/span> In the Eucharist, <span style=\"color: #800000;\">Christ\u2019s <strong>body<\/strong> joins with ours, and we become <strong>one <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">flesh<\/span><\/strong> with God<\/span>. When you approach <strong>the altar<\/strong>, do you understand that you are approaching you <strong>wedding chamber?<\/strong> When you receive Holy Communion, do you understand that you are a <strong>bride receiving her groom<\/strong>?&#8217; \u00a0 &#8211; <em>The <strong>Nuptial meaning<\/strong> <strong>of the Eucharist<\/strong>, by <strong>Catholic<\/strong> deacon Matthew Newsome.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>But this is so wrong! Also it is spiritual fornication &amp; union with a different spirit (not from God). Christ&#8217;s &#8216;<strong>Church<\/strong>&#8216; (symbolically the Bride) <strong>is still<\/strong> in the betrothal period &amp;<span style=\"color: #800000;\"> <strong>not married<\/strong><\/span> until the marriage supper of the Lamb in heaven (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=revelation+19&amp;version=AKJV\">Rev. 19:7-10<\/a>), after <strong>Christ Himself comes<\/strong> for His (one) bride in a glorious &amp; unique event (The entire Church at the same time &amp; not separate individuals at different times as they teach). Until then, we remain faithful to Him.<\/p>\n<p>The Council of Trent in the sixteenth century defined the meaning of the Eucharist as a real physical presence like this:<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>the <span style=\"color: #800000;\">Body and Blood<\/span>, together with <span style=\"color: #800000;\">the Soul and Divinity<\/span> of our Lord Jesus Christ, and therefore the <strong>whole Christ<\/strong>, is truly, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>really and substantially<\/strong><\/span> contained in the sacrament of the Holy <strong>Eucharist<\/strong><\/em>&#8220;. (Session XIII, chapter IV)<\/p>\n<p>Catholic <strong>worship the elements<\/strong> because they believe is the real presence. They also in same Council <strong>placed a curse<\/strong> on all Christians that don&#8217;t believe their doctrine:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>If anyone denies that in the sacrament of the most Holy Eucharist are contained<strong> truly, really and substantially the body and blood together with the soul and divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ<\/strong>, and consequently the whole Christ,[42] but says that He is in it only as in a sign, or figure or force, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">let him be anathema<\/span>&#8220;<\/em>. (Session XII, Canon I).<\/p>\n<p>They burnt many people at the stake for rejecting this doctrine. They use next bible verses to support their teaching: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Matthew%2026%3A26-28&amp;version=AKJV;NKJV;MEV;RVR1960\">Matt. 26:26-28<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+6%3A52-53&amp;version=AKJV;NKJV;MEV;RVR1960\">John 6:52-<strong>53:<\/strong><\/a> &#8220;<em>Truly, truly, I say to you, <strong>unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood<\/strong>, you have no life in you.<\/em>&#8221; This is exactly what the Jews also misunderstood because they always took Jesus words meaning as physical things &amp; not spiritual. But Jesus says right after statement that: &#8220;<em><span id=\"en-NKJV-26321\" class=\"text John-6-63\"><span class=\"woj\">It is the Spirit who gives life;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #000000;\"> the<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"woj\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #800000; text-decoration: underline;\">flesh<\/span> profits nothing<\/span>.<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #800000;\"><strong>The<\/strong><\/span><\/span> <span class=\"woj\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #800000;\">words <\/span>that I speak to you<\/strong> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #800000;\">are spirit, and they are life<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/em>&#8221; vs <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+6%3A63&amp;version=AKJV;NKJV;MEV;RVR1960\">63<\/a>. He was saying the meaning of His <strong>words<\/strong> were <strong>spiritual <\/strong>when talking about eating his <span style=\"color: #800000;\">flesh<\/span> and drinking his blood.<\/p>\n<p>When Jesus said, &#8220;I <i>am the vine,&#8221;<\/i> (John 15:5) or the &#8216;<em>I&#8217;m the door<\/em>&#8216; (John 10:7,9) was Jesus a <strong>literal<\/strong> vine or a literal door? Is the cup <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">the actual<\/span> new covenant, or only symbolic of it?<\/p>\n<p>Besides, <span style=\"color: #800000;\">drinking blood<\/span> was prohibited in the Mosaic Law (Lev. 17:14) &amp; Jesus fulfilled the Law (Matt.5:17). But also in the <strong>New Covenant<\/strong> we are forbidden to drink <span style=\"color: #800000;\">blood<\/span> <a class=\"rtBibleRef\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Acts+15%3A19-20&amp;version=AKJV;NKJV;MEV;RVR1960\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-reference=\"Acts 15.19-20\" data-version=\"nasb95\" data-purpose=\"bible-reference\">Acts 15:20<\/a>. The bread represented His body: &#8220;<em><span class=\"text 1Cor-11-23\">took bread<\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-28625\" class=\"text 1Cor-11-24\">and when He had given thanks, <strong>He broke it<\/strong><\/span><\/em>. . <span id=\"en-NKJV-28625\" class=\"text 1Cor-11-24\"><em><span class=\"woj\">this is My body which <strong>is<\/strong><\/span><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><span class=\"woj\"><em><strong>broken for you<\/strong>; do this <strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">in remembrance<\/span> <\/strong>of Me<\/em>&#8220;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>We Christians believe the <strong>communion is a memorial<\/strong>, a remembrance, a proclamation of His death until He comes, there is nothing there saying about transubstantiation, if this doctrine was necessary for salvation like Catholics teach then the Lord Himself would had explained it to us. Please prayerfully read the entire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1+Corinthians+11%3A23-29&amp;version=AKJV;NKJV;MEV;RVR1960\">1 Corinthians 11:23-29 .<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The doctrine of <strong>transubstantiation<\/strong> (According to Catholic Catechism: Is a mystery &#8220;The signs of bread and wine become, in a way surpassing understanding, the literal Body and Blood of Christ.&#8221;) was declared as Article of Faith in 1215 A.D. this is almost <strong>1200 years AFTER the Lord&#8217;s church was established<\/strong>. Later in 1415 it was decreed that <strong>only the bread<\/strong> should be administered to the people, and that only the priest should drink the wine for the people. But this is also contrary to Scripture. Paul commanded, &#8220;But let a man examine himself, and so let him <strong>eat of that bread, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">and drink<\/span><\/strong> of that cup.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Vatican Council II Documents &amp; their Catechism also declares<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>For<strong> in the sacrifice of the Mass<\/strong> Our Lord <span style=\"color: #800000;\">is immolated<\/span> when \u2018he begins to be present sacramentally as the spiritual food of the faithful under the appearances of bread and wine.\u2019 It was for this purpose that <span style=\"color: #800000;\">Christ entrusted this sacrifice<\/span> to the [Roman Catholic] Church, that the faithful might share in it both spiritually, by faith and charity, and sacramentally, through the banquet of Holy Communion. Participation in the Lord\u2019s Supper <strong>is always<\/strong> communion with Christ offering himself for us<span style=\"color: #800000;\"> as a sacrifice<\/span> to the Father.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">O<\/span>nly a Catholic priest can perform this mystery transformation of the wafer and wine which is called <strong>transubstantiation<\/strong>. Catholicism teaches their <strong>mass<\/strong> (which means &#8216;sacrifice&#8217; ) is to be one and the same sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross &amp; it is done repeatedly daily, weekly in reminiscent of the sacrificial altar of the Old Testament.<\/p>\n<p>But the book of Hebrews says:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span id=\"en-NKJV-30131\" class=\"text Heb-9-25\"><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">not<\/span><\/strong> that He should <span style=\"color: #800000;\">offer Himself often<\/span>, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another\u2014 <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-30132\" class=\"text Heb-9-26\"><sup class=\"versenum\">26\u00a0<\/sup>He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; <strong>but now<\/strong>, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-30133\" class=\"text Heb-9-27\"><sup class=\"versenum\">27\u00a0<\/sup>And as it is appointed for men to<strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\"> die once<\/span><\/strong>, but after this the judgment, <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-30134\" class=\"text Heb-9-28\"><sup class=\"versenum\">28\u00a0<\/sup><span style=\"color: #800000;\">so Christ was <strong>offered once<\/strong><\/span> to bear the sins of many. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Hebrews+9%3A24-28&amp;version=AKJV;NKJV;MEV;RVR1960\">Hebrews 9:25-28<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NKJV-30144\" class=\"text Heb-10-10\"><sup class=\"versenum\">10\u00a0<\/sup>By that will we have been sanctified through the <strong>offering<\/strong> of the body of Jesus Christ <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #800000; text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>once <\/strong><\/span><i><strong>for all<\/strong>.\u00a0 <\/i><\/span><\/span><span id=\"en-NKJV-30145\" class=\"text Heb-10-11\"><\/span><span class=\"text Heb-10-11\"><sup class=\"versenum\">11\u00a0<\/sup>And every priest stands ministering daily and <strong>offering repeatedly<\/strong> the same sacrifices, which <strong>can never take away sins<\/strong>. <\/span> <span id=\"en-NKJV-30146\" class=\"text Heb-10-12\"><sup class=\"versenum\">12\u00a0<\/sup>But this Man, after He had offered <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>one<\/strong> sacrifice<\/span> for sins <span style=\"color: #800000;\">forever<\/span>, sat down at the right hand of God. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Hebrews+10%3A10-12&amp;version=AKJV;NKJV;MEV;RVR1960\">Hebrews 10:10-12<\/a><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Some &#8216;Evangelicals&#8217; &amp; ecumenical teachers these days are also comparing the <strong>pagan &#8216;Unio Mystica&#8217;<\/strong> with the unity of believers that Jesus prayed for\u00a0 \u201c<span id=\"en-AKJV-26771\" class=\"text John-17-11\">Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that <strong>they may be one, as we <i>are<\/i><\/strong><\/span> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John%2017%3A11&amp;version=AKJV;NKJV;MEV;RVR1960\">John 17:11<\/a>). But Jesus here is not talking about a <strong>mystical union<\/strong> with God, but about unity in purpose &amp; <span style=\"color: #800000;\">faith<\/span> by believing in His Word.
