Sound doctrine<\/strong> is very important to God, in His Word He directs us to teach it, & hold fast unto it ( 2 John 1:9-11<\/a>, Titus 2:7<\/a><\/span>,\u00a0 etc.). For that reason it should also be important to us & it needs to be guarded and<\/strong> contended<\/strong> for. (Jude 3-4<\/a>, Rom. 16:17-18<\/a>). More often people depart from the truth<\/strong> (apostasy) because they did not have\u00a0sound doctrine<\/a> as their basis.<\/p>\n

We as Christians follow the teachings of Jesus (sound doctrine) that are found in the Bible, unsound doctrine is the teaching that contradicts or disagree with the Word of God.<\/p>\n

\u201cTake heed<\/strong> unto thyself, and unto the doctrine<\/span><\/strong>; continue<\/span> in them<\/strong>: for in doing this thou shalt both save (G4982=preserve, rescue<\/em>) thyself, and them that hear<\/span> thee.<\/span>\u201d (1 Timothy 4:16<\/a>).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Latter Rain Revival<\/a> aka New Order<\/strong> of the Latter Rain<\/a> (1947\u20131952), happened during two separate healing ministries of William Branham & Oral Roberts <\/strong>(In November 1947 Oral Roberts claimed God “appeared to him” and directed him to heal the sick).<\/strong>\u00a0 Groups of people influenced by their teachings formed what is known the ‘Latter Rain Movement<\/strong><\/a>‘. <\/strong>They claimed this was the latter rain referred in Jeremiah 3:3, Joel 2:23, and Hosea 6:3. Leaders of the movement in Canada influenced by Branham were Percy Hunt & George Hawtin<\/strong> (who preached British-Israelism<\/a> among other errors<\/span><\/span>).

\u00a0William Branham<\/a> (1<\/a>) (1909-1965). <\/span>Branham claimed that in May 7th 1946 he had an angel <\/strong>visitation to announce & later direct his\u00a0 healing ministry<\/strong>. He taught the ‘Serpent<\/a> Seed<\/a><\/strong>‘ heresy\u00a0(Sermon Sept. 28\/58 at Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, Indiana), a doctrine found in Kabbalah,<\/strong> Talmud & Gnostic gospel of Philip. He taught annihilationism<\/a> (no hell),\u00a0 predestination, didn’t believe in the Deity of Christ<\/a> but Kenosis, a<\/strong> Gnostic<\/strong> doctrine that says Jesus was a man not<\/strong> God until baptism at 30 year of age, when God (Father alone, a spirit) indwelled in him, a human body or tabernacle. Jesus was just a vessel carrying the Divinity & performed miracles & die as a man<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n

According to Branham Jesus was not eternal<\/strong> because he had a beginning. Branham didn’t believe in the Trinity<\/span>. He said: ‘Let me say this with Godly love. The hours approached where I can’t hold still on these things no more… Trinitarianism is of the devil<\/strong>. In late 1950\u2019s Branham began talking about \u2018speaking things into existence<\/em>\u2019, & said he created 2 squirrels. Branham claimed he was ‘Elijah’<\/strong> the last messenger of Laodicea & the messenger of the covenant. Also taught<\/span> that the Word of God was given in three forms, the zodiac, the Egyptian pyramids, and the written scripture<\/strong>. (Al Dager, Vengeance is Ours<\/em>, Page 59).<\/p>\n

-The Assemblies of God in 1949 officially rejected the Latter Rain\/ Manifest Sons of God doctrine as “heresy”<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Oral Roberts & W. Branham<\/strong> were not the first\u00a0 faith healers, but there were others before that influenced them. Both were gnostics &\u00a0<\/strong> were influenced by Franklin Hall<\/a> , E.W. Kenyon<\/a><\/span>\u00a0& Branham<\/strong> also claimed to be the successor<\/a> of both Smith Wigglesworth<\/strong> & John Alexander Dowie<\/strong><\/span>:<\/p>\n
