Pt.2"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"seriesmeta\">This entry is part 2 of 4 in the series <a href=\"http:\/\/cristolaverdad.com\/?series=bible-versions\" class=\"series-48\" title=\"Bible Versions\">Bible Versions<\/a><\/div><p>The new bible versions have many parts that were translated from a different manuscript called <strong>Minority Text <\/strong>, which comes from <span style=\"color: #800000;\">Alexandria<\/span> Egypt (a mecca for philosophers &amp; <strong>gnostics<\/strong> at the time), these parchments are mainly composed of two different textual families that disagree with each other: Codex Vaticanus &amp; Codex Sinaiticus. British scholar Herman Hoskier did a revision of the 2 manuscripts and counted the following <strong>disagreements with the Majority Text (Textus Receptus or Traditional Text)<\/strong> on the 4 books of the gospels alone:<\/p>\n<p>Matthew 656<\/p>\n<p>Mark 567<\/p>\n<p>Luke 791<\/p>\n<p>John 1022<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n<p>TOTAL = <strong>3036<\/strong> disagreements<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Codex Vaticanus was found on a shelf in a Vatican&#8217;s library in 1481, where it had been forgotten for centuries, its origin is unknown, &amp; Codex Sinaiticus was found with many corrections all over the original in a wastebasket of a Catholic monastery in 1844. If it was considered trash before, why are we using it as part of our bibles today? <strong>Greek Bible scholar Frederik Scrivener said that Sinaiticus has thousands of changes that were made in the 6th and 7th centuries.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 426px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/alive-in-christ.com\/images\/sinaiticus_corrections.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"416\" height=\"340\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">An example of Sinaiticus\u2019 many corrections.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>For thousands of years prior to this discovery of the Sinaiticus, Christians used the Majority Text or Textus Receptus bibles, but after this,\u00a0 two Cambridge professors Westcott &amp; Hort\u00a0 decided to use the Alexandrian manuscripts in 1881 to make their Greek Interlinear, and now most if not all new modern translation use this Westcott &amp; Hort interlinear (or use its copy , the 1898 Nestle-Aland\/United Bible Society (NA\/UBS) Greek text, with 27 revisions), to translate their own versions.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The ESV 2001, in the Preface says: &#8216; The ESV is based\u2026on the Greek text in the 1993 editions of the Greek New Testament (4th corrected edition), published by the <strong>United Bible Societies<\/strong> (UBS) and Novum Testamentum Graece (<strong>27<\/strong>th edition), edited by<strong> Nestle and Aland<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It is important to note that in <strong>1965 <\/strong>the <span style=\"color: #993300;\">United Bible Society<\/span> (UBS) <strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">&amp; the Roman Catholic Church<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\"> agreed<\/span> to prepare a &#8216;common (vulgate) text&#8217; of the bible &amp; adopted the<span style=\"color: #800000;\"> &#8216;Westcott &amp; Hort&#8217; Greek interlinear<\/span>. The UBS which distributes <strong>80% of the bibles in the world,<\/strong> from its very beginnings has been cooperating with the Vatican, but\u00a0 today even more ( https:\/\/www.unitedbiblesocieties.org\/united-bible-societies-welcomes-pope-francis\/ ). Please also check: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wayoflife.org\/database\/biblesocieties.html\">The United Bible Societies &amp; Rome.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20251008084931\/https:\/\/www.britannica.com\/biography\/Brooke-Foss-Westcott\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Brooke Foss Westcott<\/strong><\/a> (1825\u20131901) was an Anglican bishop and a professor at Cambridge University &amp; <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/F._J._A._Hort\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Fenton John Anthony Hort<\/strong> <\/a>(1828\u20131892) also an Anglican Cambridge University Professor,<strong> they both were considered <span style=\"color: #800000;\">&#8216;mystics&#8217;<\/span><\/strong> by many of their contemporaries. In order to know more about them we have their writings &amp; both of them wrote extensively.\u00a0\u00a0 We have also biographies of both men\u00a0 written by their sons. In 1896, Hort&#8217;s son Arthur F. Hort published a collection of Hort&#8217;s letters in two volumes. The book named &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/books.google.com\/books?id=Rxc3AAAAMAAJ&amp;pg=PA219&amp;lpg=PA219&amp;dq=The+Ghostly+Guild&amp;source=bl&amp;ots=b5UXbG-hIa&amp;sig=vPGj4OMk_veT-2oMyCfKkRTsExk&amp;hl=en&amp;sa=X&amp;ved=0ahUKEwic1dD8ooXWAhWINSYKHTmWAAA4FBDoAQguMAE#v=onepage&amp;q=The%20Ghostly%20Guild&amp;f=false\"><em>Life and Letters of Fenton John Anthony Hort<\/em><\/a>&#8221; &amp; in 1903 Arthur Westcott (Westcott&#8217;s son) published his fathers letters also in a two volume book entitled, &#8220;<em>Life and Letters of Brooke Foss Westcott<\/em>.&#8221; Did Westcott &amp; Hort hold to the foundational doctrines of Christianity such as the inspiration of Scripture and the blood atonement of Christ? We found<strong> they did not<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>They founded several societies, two of which were &#8216;<em>The <strong>Hermes<\/strong> Club<\/em>&#8216;. (<a href=\"https:\/\/olympioi.com\/greek-gods\/hermes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hermes<\/a> is the Greek god conductor of souls to the underground, lover of women &amp; men. <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hermeticism\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hermeticism<\/a> is a spiritual tradition originated in Egypt which <strong>central teachings<\/strong> (taught by gnostics &amp; secret societies) are based on the writings attributed to the mythical figure<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hermes_Trismegistus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Hermes Trismegistus<\/a>, which were said to contain<strong> secret knowledge<\/strong> about the nature of the universe &amp; the human soul).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;&#8230; <em><strong>Hermes<\/strong>, the <strong>god of wisdom<\/strong>, called also <strong>Thoth<\/strong>, Tat, Set, and Sat-an; and that he was, furthermore, when viewed under his bad aspect, <span style=\"color: #800000;\">Typhon, the Egyptian Satan<\/span> , who was also Set<\/em>.&#8221; [<strong>Occultist<\/strong> Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, Isis Unveiled , Vol. I: Science] (<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20171214061416\/http:\/\/www.theforbiddenknowledge.com\/symbology\/1o5.htm\">1<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>Also founded &#8216;<em><strong>The Ghostly Guild<\/strong><\/em> &#8216; the society collected and investigated reports of ghosts, (described as a predecessor to the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Society_for_Psychical_Research\"><em>Society for Psychical Research<\/em><\/a>), which was founded by Westcott with<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Edward_White_Benson\"> Edward White Benson<\/a> at Trinity College, Cambridge in 1851. Benson was later named Archbishop of Canterbury\u00a0 (his biography &#8216;Life of Edward White Benson&#8217; was made by his son Arthur C. Benson). Also please check &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/books.google.com\/books?id=_jxyQGu-nEgC&amp;pg=PA42&amp;lpg=PA42&amp;dq=Edward+White+Benson,+later+Archbishop+of+Canterbury+occult&amp;source=bl&amp;ots=aWb02cR9sD&amp;sig=upXHAp_e0qFznPdxcqyI2gUYtK4&amp;hl=en&amp;sa=X&amp;ved=0ahUKEwi74O-vrI7WAhVB3GMKHf6WCKEQ6AEIVTAM#v=onepage&amp;q=Edward%20White%20Benson%2C%20later%20Archbishop%20of%20Canterbury%20occult&amp;f=false\"><strong>Ghost Hunters<\/strong><\/a>&#8216; pg 42<\/p>\n<p>Arthur Hort in the biography of his father mentions the <em>Ghostly Guild<\/em> :<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8216;Two other societies. . .were started . . in both of which<strong> Hort<\/strong> seems to have been the moving spirit. . . the other called by its members \u2018<strong>The Ghostly Guild<\/strong>.<span style=\"color: #800000;\">&#8216; The object was to collect and classify <strong>authenticated instances of what are now called \u2018psychical phenomena<\/strong>\u2019<\/span>\u2026the &#8216;Bogie Club&#8217; as scoffers called it, aroused a certain amount of derision, and even some alarm; it was apparently born too soon&#8217;.\u00a0 <em>Life and Letters of Fenton John Anthony Hort, Vol. I, Macmillan &amp; Co., 1896, pp. 171-72; pp. 211, 219-20<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Their favor for <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20101213225337\/http:\/\/biblebeliever.co.za\/King%20James\/believes_westcott_hort.html\">Gnosticism<\/a> &amp; Catholic doctrines were evident in their lives &amp; writings. They believed in purgatory, sacraments (sacred rites), prayers for the dead, worship of Mary, etc. For more information on their beliefs you can go to:\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.1611kingjamesbible.com\/westcott_hort.html\/\">Who Were Westcott &amp; Hort?<\/a>,\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chick.com\/reading\/books\/157\/157_08a.asp\">Westcott &amp; Hort<\/a>, &amp; <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20231026081826\/https:\/\/scatteredchristians.org\/WescottHort.html\">Who Were Westcott &amp; Hort &amp; their beliefs.<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;In 1851, was founded at Cambridge a Society to &#8216;conduct a <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">serious and earnest inquiry<\/span> into the nature of the phenomena vaguely called supernatural,<\/strong>&#8216; and a number of distinguished persons became members.&#8221; Alan Gauld, <em>The Founders of Psychical Research,<\/em> Schocken Books, New York: 1968, p. 66-67. For more information please check &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/watch-unto-prayer.org\/occult.html\">The Nineteenth Century Occult Revival<\/a>&#8220;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Catholic Bible Deception3 of 91871 AD Westcott and Hort Revise the King James Bible\" width=\"676\" height=\"380\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/xSKtPKFTTdQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Sinaiticus<\/strong> contains 2 non-canonical books, <span style=\"color: #993300;\">the<em> Epistle of Barnabas<\/em> &amp;\u00a0 part of <em>Sheperd of Hermas<\/em><\/span>, both are<strong> Gnostic literature<\/strong>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Sheperd of Hermas<\/strong> <\/span>is a work identified by occultist <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Helena_Blavatsky\"><strong>H. P. Blavatsky<\/strong><\/a> as a \u201c<span style=\"color: #800000;\">kabbalistic<\/span>\u201d text!\u00a0 She ridiculed Anglican bishop, B.F. Westcott, for referring to it as a Christian writing. This have been confirmed by other esoteric &amp;\u00a0 kabbalistic writers.<\/p>\n<p>Gnosticism\u00a0 refers to a\u00a0 heretic movement that\u00a0 threatened the early church in the 2nd century. Unfortunately many Christians think that it&#8217;s something of the past, not realizing the problem &amp; infiltration of Gnosticsm in the Church is real today &amp; even greater. <strong>The biblical apostles considered the Gnostics false teachers<\/strong>, but today many of them call themselves scholars, apostles, pastors &amp; bible teachers, and sadly thousands of Christians embraced them and follow them without knowing.<\/p>\n<p>Gnosticism claims that <b>hidden<\/b> <b>knowledge<\/b><b> leads to salvation<\/b>, that only a small or special group of people (elitist) posses, it refers to knowledge based on <strong>personal<\/strong> experience or perception. They believe that the world (or matter, flesh) is evil and that only the spirit is good, for that reason Jesus couldn\u2019t be Divine.\u00a0 Gnostics were divided on Jesus. One view\u00a0 (the most common ) contended that\u00a0 a<b> divine spirit (named Christ) came upon the body of Jesus, a regular human, at baptism and departed before his crucifixion<\/b> (Kenosis) in other word Jesus is not 100% God &amp; 100% men.<\/p>\n<p>This exactly is what the <em>Shepherd of Hermas<\/em> teaches, among other things. That Jesus was an <strong>ordinary man, not God in the flesh<\/strong>, (for that reason he couldn&#8217;t be worshiped), born of<strong> Mary and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Joseph<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">;<\/span> and that at his<strong> baptism the spirit or &#8216;the Christ<\/strong>&#8216; descended upon Jesus, &amp; before or at his crucifixion the &#8216;Christ&#8217; spirit departed, leaving the man Jesus to suffer alone. <span style=\"color: #000000;\">This is the real reason behind many bible verses\u00a0 changes, to accommodate these <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #3366ff;\"><strong>gnostic doctrines<\/strong>!!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Daniel 3:25<\/strong> KJV &#8211; .. . <span id=\"en-KJV-21833\" class=\"text Dan-3-25\">and the form of the fourth is like <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>the Son of God<\/strong><\/span>.<\/span>.\u00a0 = &gt; ESV &#8216;. . .<span id=\"en-ESV-21833\" class=\"text Dan-3-25\">and the appearance of the fourth is like <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>a<\/strong> son of the gods<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>&#8216;\u00a0 (as one of many)<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Luke 2:33<\/strong><\/span> KJV &#8211; <span id=\"en-KJV-25007\" class=\"text Luke-2-33\">And <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Joseph <\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">and his mother<\/span><\/span> marvelled at those things which were spoken of him<\/span>. =&gt; ESV &#8216;<span id=\"en-ESV-24998\" class=\"text Luke-2-33\">And<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #3366ff;\"> his father <\/span>and his mother marveled at what was said about him.<\/span>&#8216; &#8211;\u00a0 (ESV indicates that Jesus was born of an earthly father Joseph. Also see Luke 2:43. These alterations deny the role of the Holy Spirit in the conception of Jesus Christ and, therefore, His Divine nature).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Luke 4:4<\/strong> KJV &#8211; <span id=\"en-KJV-25068\" class=\"text Luke-4-4\">And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That <strong>man shall not live<\/strong> by bread alone,<span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong> but by every word of God<\/strong><\/span>. =&gt; ESV &#8216;<span id=\"en-ESV-25059\" class=\"text Luke-4-4\">And Jesus answered him, <span class=\"woj\">\u201cIt is written, \u2018Man shall not live by bread alone.<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"> (_________)<\/span>.
