We will always find the disciples of Jesus in the New Testament preaching the “cross of Christ” and not ‘Torah (law) keeping<\/strong>‘. There are 4 recommendations found in <\/span>Acts 15:28-29<\/a>, to help us to stay clean, & the 3 commandments<\/span> from Jesus<\/strong> about love, so to LOVE<\/strong> <\/span>is all that is required to Christians. If we Love Him<\/strong> we will keep His words\/teachings, Jn.14:23-24<\/a>. ‘Love<\/strong> is the fulfillment of the law’<\/em> (Ro. 13:10<\/a>).
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

If we are really in a New<\/span> Covenant<\/strong> by the blood of the Lamb of God (Lk.22:20<\/a>, 1 Cor.11:25, 2 Cor.3:5-6<\/a>, etc. ), then we have new instructions<\/strong> given by Jesus and He said His yoke is easy. We are not<\/strong> in a ‘renewed<\/a>‘ covenant as HRM teaches. Can you imagine the yoke of hundreds of the Old Covenant instructions plus all the instructions of the New<\/span> ? it would be a double yoke, & that’s is what Hebrew Roots Movement teaches.<\/strong><\/p>\n

But Jesus said: “Come to Me,<\/span><\/strong> all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest<\/strong><\/span>.<\/span> <\/span> Take My<\/strong> yoke<\/span> upon you and learn from<\/span> Me<\/span><\/strong>, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls<\/strong><\/span>.<\/span> <\/span><\/em>For My yoke is easy and My burden is light<\/span><\/em><\/strong>” Matthew 11:25-30<\/a>. Jesus is our Rest, our Sabbath & He was talking to Jews, about the yoke of the old covenant<\/strong> law.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We are not without any law<\/span>, we now have the Law of Christ,<\/span> Gal.6:2<\/a> & the doctrine (teachings) of Christ<\/a>, we are in a New Covenant<\/strong>. The law of Christ, then, is to love<\/span> God<\/span> <\/strong>with all of our being, to love<\/span> our neighbors<\/span> as we love ourselves and He added a new commandment to His followers to love<\/span> one another<\/span> of the brethren as HE<\/strong> loved us. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God<\/span> with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great<\/span> commandment. And the second<\/span> is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour<\/span> as thyself.<\/strong> <\/span>On these two commandments<\/strong><\/span> hang all the law<\/span><\/strong> and the prophets. (which means the entire Torah & the entire Old Testament<\/em>). <\/span><\/span>Mark 12:32\u201333<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

For I have given you an example,<\/span><\/strong> that ye should do as I have done to you<\/span>. . .<\/span> A NEW<\/span> commandment<\/span><\/strong> I give unto you, That ye love one another<\/strong><\/span>; as<\/span> I have<\/span> loved you<\/strong><\/span>, that ye also love one another.<\/span> John 13:3-34<\/a><\/p>\n

For the commandments, \u201cYou shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not give false testimony, You shall not covet,\u201d and if there are any other commandments<\/span><\/strong>, are summed up<\/strong><\/span> in this saying, \u201cYou shall love<\/span> your neighbor as yourself.\u201d<\/span> Love works no evil<\/span> to a neighbor. Therefore love<\/span> is the<\/strong> fulfillment of the<\/strong> law<\/strong><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> Rom. 13:9-10<\/a><\/p>\n

*<\/span> <\/sup><\/strong>If<\/strong> therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law<\/span><\/strong>) what further need was there<\/i><\/span> that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?<\/span><\/span> For the priesthood being changed,<\/span> <\/strong>there is made<\/span> of necessity a change also of the law<\/span>. <\/strong><\/span><\/span>Hebrews 7:12<\/a><\/p>\n

For all<\/strong><\/span><\/span> (G3956<\/a>= whole, entire<\/strong>) the law<\/span><\/strong> is fulfilled in one word<\/span>, even<\/i> in this; Thou shalt love<\/span><\/strong> thy neighbour as thyself.<\/span> Gal. 5:14<\/a>
\n<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

We fulfill the law<\/span> when we love according to the Scriptures<\/span>, so instead of memorizing 613 commandments<\/strong> (number according to Talmud)<\/a> that Judaism & also the HRM teaches to observe (many are related to the temple service that doesn’t exist anymore), we just need to put our effort in imitating Jesus<\/strong> by loving God & others, He is our example and if He is our Lord we will follow His instructions<\/span><\/strong>. But it is important to know that true love<\/span> 1 Cor. 13 comes only from God,<\/strong> is a gift of the Spirit Gal. 5:22<\/a>, we won’t be able to accomplish this in our own strength but only by the power of the Holy Spirit in us<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

“\u00a0<\/sup>And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. <\/em><\/span> 23\u00a0<\/sup>And this is His commandment:<\/span> that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ<\/span> and love one another<\/span><\/strong>,<\/span> as He gave us commandment<\/em>.<\/span>” 1 Jn.3:22-23<\/a><\/p>\n

We know there are some that go to the other extreme, that is also wrong & teach an easy believe-ism gospel that is not biblical, which is about fake love that doesn’t come from God, that is man pleasing & disregards the teachings <\/strong>(Doctrine<\/a>) of Jesus Christ<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Or do you not know, brethren (for I speak to those who know the law<\/strong>), that the law<\/span><\/strong> has <\/span>dominion over a man<\/span><\/span> as long as he lives<\/span>?<\/span> For the woman who has a husband is bound by the law to her<\/i> husband as long as he lives<\/span>. But if the husband dies, she is released from the law of her<\/i> husband. <\/span>So then if, while her<\/i> husband lives, she marries another man, she will be called an adulteress; but if<\/strong> her husband dies, she is free<\/span> from that law,<\/strong> so that she is no adulteress, though she has married another man. <\/span>Therefore, <\/strong>my brethren, you <\/span><\/strong>also<\/span> have become dead to the law<\/strong><\/span><\/span> through the body of Christ<\/span>,<\/span> that<\/span> <\/strong><\/span>you may be married to another<\/span><\/strong><\/span>\u2014<\/span>to Him<\/span><\/span> who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God. . .But now we have been delivered from the law<\/strong><\/span>,<\/strong> having died<\/strong><\/span> to what we were held by<\/strong><\/span>, so that we should serve in the newness<\/span> of the Spirit<\/strong> and not<\/span> <\/strong><\/span>in the old<\/span>ness of the letter<\/span>.<\/span> <\/span>“ Romans 7:1-6,<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

There are only 2 options:<\/p>\n

1\/ Or<\/strong> we are under the law <\/span><\/strong>(married or bound to the Mosaic Law).<\/p>\n

2\/ Or we are IN<\/span> Christ Jesus<\/strong>,<\/p>\n

We cannot have both ways, because it is spiritual adultery. The Mosaic law given in Mount Sinai was for Jacob’s descendants born according to the flesh (Israelites) but not for the ones born according to the Spirit (New Covenant)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Real Christians have died<\/strong> to self<\/span>, dead to the law, the law has no dominion over us anymore: “I have been crucified with Christ<\/span> and I no longer live<\/span>, but Christ lives in me<\/span><\/strong>. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me<\/em>.<\/span>” Gal.2:20<\/p>\n

Gal.4: 21-31<\/a> “Tell me, you who desire <\/strong>to be under<\/span> the law<\/span><\/strong><\/span>, do you not hear the law<\/strong>? For it is written that Abraham had two<\/span> sons: the one by a bond<\/strong>woman<\/span>, the other by a free<\/strong>woman<\/span>.<\/span> But he who was of the bondwoman was born according to the flesh<\/strong><\/span>, and he of the free<\/strong>woman <\/span>through promise<\/strong><\/span>,<\/span> which things are symbolic. For these are the two<\/strong> covenants<\/span>: the one from Mount Sinai<\/strong> which gives birth to bondage<\/strong><\/span><\/span>, which is Hagar\u2014 for this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to Jerusalem which now is<\/span>, and is in bondage with her children<\/span>\u2014 but the Jerusalem above is free<\/strong><\/span>,<\/span> which is the mother of us all.<\/span><\/strong> For it is written:. . . Now we, brethren<\/strong><\/span>, as Isaac was, are children of promise<\/strong><\/span>.<\/span> But, as he who was born according to the flesh<\/strong> then persecuted<\/strong> him<\/span> who was born according to the Spirit<\/span>,<\/strong><\/span> even so it is now<\/strong><\/span>. Nevertheless what does the Scripture say? \u201cCast out<\/span><\/span><\/strong> the bond<\/strong>woman and her son<\/strong><\/span>, for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir<\/strong><\/span> with the son of the freewoman<\/span>.\u201do then, brethren,<\/span><\/strong> we are not children<\/span> of the bondwoman<\/span> but of the free.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Hebrews 8:13<\/a> “In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old<\/strong><\/span>.<\/strong> Now that which decayeth and waxeth old<\/span> is ready to vanish away<\/span><\/strong>.”<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

 <\/p>\n

There is<\/i> therefore now no condemnation to them which are in<\/span> Christ Jesus<\/strong>, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.<\/span> <\/span>For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. <\/span>For what the law could not do<\/span><\/strong>, in that it was weak<\/strong><\/span> through the flesh<\/span>, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh<\/strong>: <\/span>that the righteousnes<\/span>s<\/strong><\/span> of the law<\/span> might be fulfilled in us<\/strong><\/span>, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit<\/strong>. Rom.8:1-4<\/a> <\/span><\/p>\n

Phil.3:8-9\u00a0 . .that I may gain Christ,<\/span> and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness which is from the law<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span>, but<\/strong> that which is through faith in Christ<\/span><\/strong>,<\/span>the righteousness which is of God<\/strong><\/span> on the basis of faith<\/strong>, <\/span><\/p>\n

JESUS IS OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS, NOT the LAW KEEPING:<\/p>\n

1 Cor. 1:28-30. <\/span>also Romans 5:17, 2 Cor.5:21, Jeremiah 23:6
\n<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Everyone who walks after the flesh is under the law,<\/strong> Christians do not walk after the flesh but after the Spirit. If we are truly born again we were born of the Spirit of God (John 3:1-7<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law,<\/span><\/strong> or by the hearing of faith<\/span>? Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit<\/strong>, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?<\/span> . .Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you<\/strong> and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law<\/span><\/strong>,<\/span> or by the hearing of faith?<\/strong><\/span> just as Abraham \u201cbelieved God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.\u201d Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham<\/strong>. . . For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse<\/span>;<\/span> for it is written, \u201cCursed<\/span> is everyone who does not<\/span> continue in all<\/span> things which are written in the book of the law<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, to do them.\u201d But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for \u201cthe just shall live by faith.\u201d Yet the law is not of faith<\/span>, but \u201cthe man who does them shall live by them.\u201d Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law<\/strong><\/span>, having become a curse for us (for it is written, \u201cCursed is everyone who hangs on a tree\u201d that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in<\/span> Christ Jesus,<\/strong> that we might receive the promise<\/strong><\/span> of the Spirit through faith.<\/strong> Brethren, I speak in the manner of men: Though it is only a man\u2019s covenant, yet if it is confirmed, no one annuls or adds to it. Now to Abraham and his Seed<\/span> were the promises made. He does not say, \u201cAnd to seeds,\u201d as of many, but as of one, \u201cAnd to your Seed,\u201dwho is Christ<\/span><\/span>. And this I say, that the law, which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ,<\/span> that it should make the promise of no effect. For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no longer of promise; but God gave it to Abraham by promise. . . .<\/p>\n

19 -What purpose then does the law<\/span> serve? <\/span><\/strong>It was added because of transgressions<\/span> till the Seed<\/strong><\/span> should come to whom the promise was made<\/span>; Galatians 3: 2-19<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Law<\/strong> (Mount Sinai) was temporary<\/span> until Jesus<\/strong> (the Promise made to Abraham) should come.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hebrew Roots leaders say they teach that Salvation derives from the belief in Jesus Christ as personal savior, not from Torah keeping. However, because of their frequent harsh condemnations of those who do not practice the law of Sinai, it seems that to them salvation is not by faith in Christ alone.<\/strong><\/span> What happens is that HRM also teaches that sin<\/strong> is breaking the written Torah of old covenant, they twist (1 John 3:4). Laws such as dietary restrictions and Sabbath keeping are in the written Torah, thus it is sin to not keep Sabbath and to eat forbidden food. In the HRM the Law overwrites Grace, and the atoning work of Jesus Christ is incomplete.<\/strong> For the HRM, if you are not moved (or awaken) to keep the Sabbath or keep dietary restrictions, then you must not truly be born of God<\/strong>.\u00a0 -Like the\u00a0 Calvinist, Catholics, Cults, etc. they are not looking for the fruit of the Spirit<\/strong>, but for works of the flesh<\/span>!!<\/span><\/p>\n

HRM teaches the word ‘transgression<\/em>‘ (G3847 = to overstep, neglect, violate) <\/em>in Gal. 3;19<\/a> , is a contradiction & error because ‘transgression’ only means to disobey the ‘Mosaic law’ or Torah, but this is false, in Rom.5:14 <\/a>the Bible mentions Adam’s<\/strong> transgression<\/strong> (same word G3847) but the Mosaic Law didn’t exist<\/strong> until\u00a0about 2500 years later. Adam disobeyed an specific order<\/strong> of not to eat from the tree of good & evil. The Mosaic Law or the law of Mount Sinai was only given to the Israelites (Old Covenant) after being part & delivered from Egypt a pagan nation full of sin, idolatry and witchcraft<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

=><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 “The Lord<\/span> made NOT<\/span> <\/strong><\/span>this covenant<\/span> with our fathers<\/span><\/span>, but with us<\/span><\/span>, even us, who are all of us here alive<\/span> this day<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/em>” Deut.5:1-3 <\/a><\/h5>\n

The law was added to the Old Covenant because sin<\/strong> abounded, an example that easily comes to mind is the worship of the golden calf. Ex.32<\/a> The law\u00a0 acted as a tutor\/teacher<\/strong> (Gal.3:24<\/a>) until Christ. The Holy Spirit<\/strong> is now the teacher\/tutor<\/strong> of the New Testament believer Jn.14:26<\/a>, not<\/strong> the law. The law shows our sin. The Holy Spirit also convicts us of sin.<\/strong> The Torah attempted to change people from the outside. The Holy Spirit changes our hearts<\/strong>, from within. There is a direct parallel here. In fact, Pentecost\/Shavuot for the Jews symbolizes the giving of the ‘Torah’ (Law, instruction) on Mount Sinai (or birth of Judaism, it also celebrated the end of the barley harvest and the beginning of the wheat harvest). Pentecost for the NT believer is when the Church received the gift of the Holy Spirit, (birth of the church,\u00a0 Christianity\/Grace). Acts 2.<\/p>\n

But before faith<\/span><\/strong> came, we were imprisoned <\/strong>under the law<\/span><\/span>, kept for the faith which was later to be revealed. <\/span>So the law was our tutor<\/span> <\/span><\/strong>to bring us to Christ<\/strong><\/span>, that we might be justified by faith<\/span>. <\/span>But now that faith has come,<\/strong> we are no longer<\/strong> under a tutor<\/span>.<\/span> You are all sons of God by faith in Christ Jesus. <\/span>For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. <\/span>There is neither Jew<\/strong> <\/span>nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, and there is neither male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus<\/span><\/span>. <\/span>If you are Christ\u2019s, then you are Abraham\u2019s seed, and heirs according to the promise<\/strong>. <\/span>Gal. 3:23-29<\/a><\/p>\n

1 Tim. 1:3-10:<\/a><\/span> ‘<\/span><\/span>8 <\/sup>But we know that the law is good<\/span> if<\/span> someone uses it lawfully<\/strong>. <\/span> 9 <\/sup>And we know that the law<\/span> is not<\/span> <\/strong>given for a righteous<\/span><\/strong> person<\/span>, but for the lawless and disobedient<\/span>,<\/span> for the ungodly and for sinners<\/span>,<\/strong> . . .<\/span> for liars, for perjurers, and for anything<\/strong> else that is contrary to sound doctrine’<\/strong>. <\/span> <\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Like we mentioned before, we don’t become part of Israel<\/strong> in the New Covenant, but we both Jew & gentiles ‘believers’ become a new<\/span> creature<\/strong>, one body in Jesus Christ. Ephe. 2:14<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Like the 7th Day Adventist, HRM teaches the word ‘commandments<\/strong>‘ in the New Testament always refers to the law or the 10 commandments. When Jesus said: “If you love Me, obey My<\/span> commandments<\/em> (G1785 =precepts<\/strong><\/span>)” John 14:15. He is saying this at the end of His ministry in the last supper, right before His arrest, after teaching them daily for 3 and a half years<\/strong>. He was not referring to Torah or Mosaic Law but His teachings<\/strong><\/span>, otherwise why He needed to teach them anything if they had it already in the Torah? Jesus gave His last minutes instructions to His disciples and if we continue reading in context in verses 21-24 He tells them these commandments are the words He has spoken while being present with them<\/span>! The Holy Spirit will help us to remember them, but He doesn’t mention following the Mosaic Law at all.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

He who has My<\/span><\/strong> commandments<\/strong> and keeps them<\/span>, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.\u201d<\/span><\/span> Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, \u201cLord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?\u201d<\/span> Jesus answered and said to him, \u201cIf anyone loves Me, he <\/span>will keep My word<\/span><\/strong><\/span>; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.<\/span> <\/span>He who does not love Me does not keep My words<\/span><\/strong><\/span>; and the word which you hear<\/strong><\/span> is not Mine but the Father\u2019s who sent Me. These things I have spoken<\/span><\/strong> to you while being present<\/strong> with you<\/span>. <\/span>But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all<\/strong> things that I said<\/strong> to you<\/span><\/span>. <\/span>John 14:21-24<\/a><\/span>
\n<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Also in same conversation found in next chapters He continues telling them how important is to keep His words<\/span> and to abide in Him<\/strong>, “If you abide in Me, and My words<\/strong> <\/span>abide in you<\/span>, you will<\/span> ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you” & “This is My commandment, that you love one another<\/strong> as I have loved you<\/span>” John 15:7 & 12<\/a>. We are Christ<\/span>ians because we follow Christ<\/strong> and His teachings<\/strong><\/span>, not because we follow Judaism,\u00a0 or Hebrew Roots or any man’s interpretations. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The word Torah (Hebrew) translated LAW also means instruction, teachings<\/span><\/strong>.<\/span> So when a Jew says the word ‘Torah’<\/strong> he isn’t talking necessarily about Old Testament, but for them it could mean also Talmud (oral Torah) or Zohar (Kabbalah), etc.<\/p>\n

But why movements about following the Old Testament laws<\/strong> are getting more popular lately? Well, it seams there is a hidden agenda pushed behind all of this:<\/p>\n

THE NOAHIDE LAWS<\/strong><\/p>\n

There is, at present, a worldwide movement<\/strong> with many points of entry<\/strong> (Lubavitcher Movement, Nazarene Movement, Hebraic Roots<\/strong>\/Messianic Movement, Latter Rain\/Roman Catholic Year of Jubilee) to bring all of mankind under the Old Testament Law<\/strong>. …<\/span><\/p>\n

This massive movement also seems to be leading toward the global establishment of the Noahide Laws<\/span><\/span> (already U.S. law <\/strong>-H.J. Resolution 104, Public Law 102-14), for which disobedience the penalty is beheading<\/span> (Rev. 20:4).<\/strong> The Encyclopedia of Judaism<\/strong> lists these seven universal laws and indicates their binding nature on all Gentiles: …The Encyclopedia of Judaism identifies the Babylonian Talmud<\/strong> (T.B.) as the source of “The Noachide Laws. ” <\/span> http:\/\/watch.pairsite.com\/HRM.html<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
