Pt.2"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"seriesmeta\">This entry is part 4 of 6 in the series <a href=\"http:\/\/cristolaverdad.com\/?series=importance-of-the-heart\" class=\"series-39\" title=\"Importance of The Heart\">Importance of The Heart<\/a><\/div><p>Those hardened or cut off <strong>are NOT born in this condition<\/strong>, but have \u201cgrown hardened\u201d over years of rebellion , their hearts or conscience becomes dull or hardened <span style=\"color: #993300;\">because<\/span> of <strong>continual &amp; unrepentant sin in their lives<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1+Tim.4%3A2%2C&amp;version=AKJV\">1 Tim.4:2<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Acts+28%3A24-27%2C+Matt.+19%3A8&amp;version=AKJV\">Acts 28:24-27, Matt. 19:8<\/a>, Rom.2:5, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Hebrews-3-13\/\"><strong>Heb 3:13<\/strong><\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Romans-1-20_1-26\/\">Rom 1:20-26<\/a> \u201ceven his eternal power and Godhead; so that <strong>they are without excuse<\/strong>. Because that, when <strong>they knew God, they glorified him not as God,<\/strong> neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and <strong>their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools<\/strong>, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. <strong>Wherefore <span style=\"color: #993300;\">God also gave them up<\/span><\/strong> to uncleanness through the lusts <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">of their own hearts<\/span><\/strong> . . . And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, <strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">God gave them over<\/span><\/strong> to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Romans-2-4_2-6\/\">Romans 2:4-6 <\/a><strong>:<\/strong> <em>Or despisest thou the riches of <span style=\"color: #993300;\">his goodness<\/span> and forbearance and<strong> longsuffering<\/strong>; not knowing that <strong>the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?<\/strong> but after thy<strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\"> hardness and impenitent heart<\/span><\/strong> <strong>treasurest up <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">unto thyself wrath<\/span><\/strong> against the day of wrath and revelation of the <strong>righteous judgment of God<\/strong>; who will render<strong> to every man according to his deeds:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Ephesians-4-18_4-20\/\">Ephesians 4:18-20<\/a> &#8216;Having the <strong>understanding darkened<\/strong>, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, <strong>because of the blindness <\/strong>(Strong #G4457= callousness, blindness, <strong><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">hardness<\/span>) <\/strong>of their heart<\/strong>: Who being <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">past feeling<\/span> (G524= cease to feel insensible) <strong>have given themselves over unto<\/strong> lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. But ye have not so learned Christ;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>We see two kinds of heart hardening taught in the Scripture:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1\/ Self-hardening<\/strong> &#8211; People may harden their own hearts, because of unrepentant sin, rebellion, bitterness, pride, etc. (Ex. 9:34-35; 2 Chron. 36:13; Zech. 7:12; Dan. 5:20; Eph. 4:18; Heb. 3:12-15)<\/p>\n<p><strong>2\/ God&#8217;s hardening<\/strong>, some call it Judicial hardening &#8211; <span style=\"color: #993300;\">God simply gives them over to their sin<\/span> &amp; lets them continue down their already chosen hardened path. This is God&#8217;s intervention or <span style=\"color: #800000;\">judgment<\/span> to<strong> an already hardened or rebellious person<\/strong>. In this case of pharaoh, to accomplish a <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">greater redemptive purpose<\/span>.<\/strong>\u00a0 A hardened heart doesn&#8217;t let us understand spiritual truth it causes spiritual blindness, the harder the heart the more blind to God&#8217;s Truth. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Mark-6-52\/\">Mark 6:52<\/a>; <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Mark-8-17\/\">8:17<\/a><\/strong>). This is why God warns us NOT to harden our hearts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com\/736x\/7a\/ee\/c2\/7aeec2bc8b4bfc9343bb9177127f53de.jpg\" width=\"212\" height=\"212\" \/><\/p>\n<p>But still men are very much capable of <strong>hearing, seeing and repenting when confronted by the powerful gospel truth<\/strong> (Acts 28:27-28).\u00a0 Only the Word of God has the power to cut or pierce a hardened heart (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Hebrews-4-12\/\">Heb. 4:12<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Israel\u2019s hardening as a nation was also (like Pharaoh) an act of self-hardening followed by God\u2019s act of judicial hardening as clearly portrayed in the Scriptures (<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210709192038\/https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Matthew-23-37\/\">Matt. 23:37<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Romans-11-9_11-12\/\">Rom. 11:9-12<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">God\u2019s goodness &amp; power was displayed in <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>mercy<\/strong><\/span> to unfaithful, hardened Israelites in the day of Moses &amp; in partial &amp; temporal<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> <strong>hardening<\/strong><\/span> the unfaithful, hardened Israelites, hundreds of years later, in the time of Jesus. But only because of their rebellion &amp;<strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\"> unbelief.<\/span> Both times to accomplish a greater redemptive purpose.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>Therefore <strong>He has <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">mercy<\/span><\/strong> on whom He wills, and whom He wills He<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong> hardens<\/strong><\/span>. <\/em>Rom<em>.<\/em> 9:15<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Romans-11-25\/\">Romans 11:25<\/a> For I would not, brethren, that ye should <strong>be ignorant of this mystery<\/strong>, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; <strong>that blindness<\/strong> (Strong <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kingjamesbibledictionary.com\/StrongsNo\/g4457\">#G4457<\/a>= callousness, <strong>hardness)<span style=\"color: #993300;\"> in part<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #000000;\"> is happened to Israel<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">,<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #000000;\">until<\/span> the fullness of the Gentiles be come in.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Israelites<span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong> were cut off<\/strong><\/span><strong> because of<\/strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong> unbelief<\/strong> <\/span>(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Romans-11-20\/\">Rom.11:20<\/a>) and the hope of the apostle Paul is that they may be grafted back in and saved (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Romans-11-11_11-32\/\">Rom.11:11-32<\/a>). But God was <strong>longsuffering<\/strong> still while they hardened their own hearts. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Psalms%2095%3A8-11%2C%20Acts%2019%3A9&amp;version=AKJV;RVR1960;NKJV\">Psalms 95:8-11, Acts 19:9<\/a>, etc).<\/p>\n<p>Have you notice that we don&#8217;t have any more examples of God&#8217;s hardening hearts in the New Covenant that was made through faith in Jesus ? (Israelites were in the Old Covenant).\u00a0 Nowhere in the Scriptures does the hardening of the hearts, (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Hebrews-3-13\/\">Heb 3:13<\/a>, Prov 28:14, 4:23) have to do with a person&#8217;s or nation&#8217;s election for salvation or hell (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Rom.+11%3A26-31%2C+Isaiah+63%3A17&amp;version=AKJV;RVR1960;NKJV\">Rom. 11:26-31, Isaiah 63:17<\/a>).\u00a0 On the contrary we can find many bible passages that contradict that interpretation.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>How we become vessels of wrath?<\/strong><\/h5>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Romans-9-20_9-22\/\"><strong>Rom.9:<\/strong>20-22<\/a> \u201d<strong>Hath not <span style=\"color: #993300;\">the potter<\/span> power over the clay<\/strong>, of the same lump to make <strong>one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?<\/strong> What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, <strong>endured with much longsuffering<\/strong> the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">vessels of wrath <span style=\"color: #993300; text-decoration: underline;\">fitted<\/span> to destruction<\/span>.\u201d &#8211; (e.g Pharaoh, Egypt, Israel).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In verse 22 the verb <strong>fitted<\/strong> in Greek (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kingjamesbibledictionary.com\/StrongsNo\/g2675\">G2675<\/a>)<span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong> is in the middle voice<\/strong><\/span> ( <a href=\"http:\/\/studybible.info\/vines\/Fit%20%28Adjective%20and%20Verb%29,%20Fitly,%20Fitting\">Vine&#8217;s expository dictionary<\/a> of the New Testament ), indicating that the vessels of wrath <strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">fitted <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">themselves<\/span> for destruction<\/span><\/strong>. Again none of this have to do with whether or not a person or nation was chosen by God before the foundations of the world to go to heaven or hell after death.<\/p>\n<p>Who is God longsuffering with ?\u00a0 and Why?<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>The Lord<\/strong> is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but<span style=\"color: #993300;\"> is longsuffering to us-ward<\/span><strong>,<\/strong> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>not willing that<\/strong> <strong>any<\/strong> should perish<\/span>, but that <strong>ALL<\/strong> should come to <strong>repentance<\/strong>.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/2-Peter-3-9\/\">2 Peter 3:9<\/a>.<strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, <strong>who is the Saviour of ALL<\/strong> <strong>men<\/strong>, specially of those that<strong> believe<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong>\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/1-Timothy-4-10\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1st Timothy 4:10<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text 1John-2-2\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/1-John-2-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1 John 2:2<\/a><\/span>, <span id=\"en-AKJV-27168\" class=\"text Acts-7-51\"><i><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Acts+7%3A51&amp;version=AKJV;MEV;RVR1960\">Acts 7:51<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/John-1-29\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">John 1:29<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/John-3-16\/\">John 3:16-17<\/a> ,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/1-John-2-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1 John 2:2<\/a> , <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/2-Peter-3-9\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2 Peter 3:9<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210709192038\/https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Matthew-23-37\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Matt. 23:37,<\/a>\u00a0 etc. <\/i><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>God patiently (longsuffering) put up with Israel even in their stubborn rebellion so as to be \u201ccut off,\u201d \u201cgiven over\u201d or \u201cprepared\u201d for the destruction<strong> they have earned<\/strong> (like the Edomites and Egyptians before them).\u00a0 And I believe the church\u00a0which is in apostasy, falling away from the truth of God is next and the time is here for God&#8217;s judgment to the Church. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/1-Peter-4-17\/\">1 Peter 4:17<\/a><\/p>\n<p>But please, let us check other verses in God&#8217;s Word about the subject of vessels to see the truth: Jer.18, &amp; 2 Timothy 2:15-22. Remember, Romans 9 is talking about <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Deuteronomy-7-6\/\">elected<\/a><\/strong> nation of Israel, not elected for salvation (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Deuteronomy-7-8\/\">Deut. 7:7-9<\/a>), but in context (applying <a href=\"http:\/\/www.compellingtruth.org\/biblical-exegesis.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">exegesis<\/a>), for God\u2019s service, to bring the law, the promises, the Scriptures,\u00a0 the Messiah.\u00a0 Jews new the Scriptures, so they understood Paul very well, they were familiar with the potter&#8217;s house revelation in Jeremiah:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Jeremiah-Chapter-18\/\">Jer. 18:3,7-11<\/a> &#8211; Then I went down to<span style=\"color: #993300;\"> the potter\u2019s house<\/span>, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. . . Behold, <strong>as the clay is in the potter\u2019s hand, so are ye in mine hand, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">O house of Israel<\/span>.<\/strong> At what instant I shall speak <strong>concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it<\/span><\/strong>;\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #993300;\">if that nation<\/span>, against whom I have pronounced, <span style=\"color: #993300;\">turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them<\/span>. And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it;\u00a0 if it do evil in my sight, that<strong> it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">good<\/span><\/strong>, wherewith I said I would benefit them. Now therefore go to, speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the Lord; Behold, I frame (<a href=\"http:\/\/studybible.info\/strongs\/H3335\">H3335<\/a>=to mould into a form as a potter, a resolution) evil (<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20161216104702\/http:\/\/www.kingjamesbibledictionary.com:80\/StrongsNo\/h7451\">H7451<\/a>= worst, bad, calamity, distress, affliction) against you, and devise a device against you: <strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">return ye<\/span> <span style=\"color: #993300;\">now<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">every one<\/span> from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/2-Timothy-2-21\/\">2 Tim:2: 19-21<\/a>&#8211; And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ <span style=\"color: #993300;\">depart from iniquity<\/span>. But in a great house there are not only <strong>vessels of gold and of silver<\/strong>, but also of <strong>wood and of earth<\/strong> (clay); and <strong>some to honour, and some to dishonour<\/strong>.\u00a0 <strong>If a man<\/strong> therefore <span style=\"color: #993300;\">purge <strong>himself<\/strong> from these<\/span>, <strong>he shall be <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a vessel unto honour<\/span>,<\/strong> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">sanctified, and meet for <strong>the master\u2019s use<\/strong><\/span><strong>,<\/strong> and prepared unto every good work.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; According to the Scriptures<strong> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">the responsibility<\/span> for a vessel to be of<span style=\"color: #993300;\"> honor or of wrath<\/span> is not laid on God, but<span style=\"color: #993300;\"> on the person<\/span>. <\/strong>It is God&#8217;s justice what to do after we had made a choice, still because of His mercy He always call us to repentance before judgment.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Romans-9-30_9-33\/\">Rom 9:30-33 <\/a>\u201cWhat shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, <strong>have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness of <span style=\"color: #993300;\">faith<\/span><\/strong>; but Israel, pursuing the law of righteousness, has <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not attained to the law of righteousness.
