He is the author &amp; finisher of our faith :<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>looking unto <strong>Jesus the author and finisher of our faith<\/strong>; who <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">for the joy that was set before him endured the cross<\/span>, despising the shame, and is sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Hebrews-12-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hebrews 12:2<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>There are foundational doctrines in the Word of God that one must believe in as a Christian. You will find them in most Statements of Faith of Christian churches or Christian web pages.\u00a0 The Bible states:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8221; <strong><em>Whosoever<\/em><\/strong> <em>transgresseth (G3845 = <strong>depart<\/strong>, leave, be turned from), and abideth <\/em>(<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20161009121811\/http:\/\/www.kingjamesbibledictionary.com:80\/StrongsNo\/g3306\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">G3306<\/a> = <strong>remain<\/strong>, stay, continue)<em><strong> not<\/strong> in the<span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong> doctrine of Christ<\/strong><\/span>, <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">hath not God.<\/span><\/strong> <\/em>He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.<strong> If there come any unto you, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">and bring not this doctrine<\/span><\/strong>, receive him not into <i>your<\/i> house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.&#8221;\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/2-John-1-9\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2 John 1:9-11 .<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The &#8216;<strong>Doctrine of Christ&#8217;<\/strong> &#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.merriam-webster.com\/dictionary\/doctrine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">doctrine<\/a> means teachings, instructions. For this reason many consider the foundational doctrines to be all the teachings &amp; instructions of Jesus, found in the New Testament. The book of Hebrews points out six foundational teachings (called doctrine of Christ) that every Christian should know &amp; are considered milk. See\u00a0 <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Hebrews-6-1_6-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hebrews 6:1-2<\/a><\/strong>. However some Christians only consider the &#8216;Doctrine of Christ&#8217; to be the teachings about the person, nature &amp; works of Christ (<a href=\"http:\/\/biblehub.com\/library\/evans\/the_great_doctrines_of_the_bible\/the_doctrine_of_jesus_christ.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Christology<\/a>), which includes<strong> the Gospel of Salvation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>We agree with many Christians that the\u00a0\u00a0foundational doctrines include but are not necessarily limited to:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>1\/<\/strong><\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>The Scriptures<\/strong><\/span>&#8211; Inspired by the Holy Spirit, inerrant (<i>as originally given<\/i>) and sufficient for all Christian life. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/2-Timothy-3-16_3-17\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2 Timothy 3:16-17<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20230401120142\/https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/2-Peter-1-20_1-21\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2 Pet 1:20-21.\u00a0<\/a> The Bible is God&#8217;s revelation in written form &amp; it is the<strong> final authority<\/strong> for every Christian in all matters of faith and morals. The Apostle Peter said \u201cthe word of the Lord endures <strong>forever<\/strong>\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/1-Peter-1-25\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">1 Pet. 1:23-25<\/a>) and therefore its\u00a0authority cannot be broken. This is foundational to other essential doctrines.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Many religions deny the sufficiency of Scripture or have their own translations or add\u00a0as equal to Scriptures their own interpretations. e,g their church traditions or\u00a0Catechisms (Catholicism &#8211; Council of Trent, Westminster Catechism, etc), their founders&#8217; new revelations (New Apostolic Reformation, Emergents, Word of Faith Movements, Hebrew Roots, etc.) , or their founders&#8217; doctrinal interpretations (Mormons, Jehovah&#8217;s Witness, Scientology, etc.)<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>2\/<\/strong><\/span> <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Godhead<\/span>&#8211;<\/strong> Through the Scriptures we learn there is one God (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Deuteronomy-6-4\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Deut. 6:4<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Isaiah-45-22\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Isaiah 45:22<\/a>), Almighty, creator of all things (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Genesis-1-1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gen.1:1<\/a>).\u00a0God cannot lie (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Hebrews-6-18\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Heb. 6:18<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Titus-1-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Titus 1:2<\/a>). He is perfect, Infinite, and Eternal.<strong>\u00a0He exists in three separate Persons : The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit<\/strong>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">each one<\/span> possessing <strong>all<\/strong> the attributes of Deity and personality. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Matthew-3-16_3-17\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Matthew 3:16-17<\/a> , <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Matthew-28-19_28-20\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Matthew 28:19-20<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Genesis-11-7\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Genesis 11:7<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Colossians-2-9\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Colossians 2:9<\/a> ; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Acts-5-3_5-4\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Acts 5:3-4<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/2-Corinthians-13-14\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2 Cor. 13:14<\/a>). More bible verses<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20240909142322\/https:\/\/www.biblehelp.org\/reference_1.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0 Some\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nontrinitarianism\">non-trinitarians<\/a> believe in God is one person that manifest himself in 3 ways or with 3 faces. Groups that reject the doctrine of the Trinity are: Mormons, Jehovah&#8217;s Witnesses, Unitarians, Oneness Pentecostals, most Hebrew Roots, etc.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Some others <strong>change God&#8217;s character <\/strong>or take one of His attributes to the extreme disregarding the others:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>The <strong>first man fell<\/strong> because the Lord deemed it meet that he should<\/em>&#8221; <strong>(John Calvin<\/strong>,\u00a0 institutes of Christian Religion, Book 3, Chp.23, paragraph 8).\u00a0\u00a0 \u201c<em>God wills all things that come to pass&#8230;<strong>God <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">desired<\/span> <\/strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">for man to fall into sin<\/span><strong>&#8230;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">God created sin<\/span><\/strong><\/em>.\u201d (<strong>Calvinist R.C. Sproul, Jr.<\/strong>, <em> Almighty Over All<\/em> , p. 54).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>God is able without blameworthy &#8216;tempting&#8217; to see to it that a person does<strong> what God ordains<\/strong> for him to do<\/em> <em><strong>even if it involves <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">evil<\/span><\/strong><\/em>&#8221; (<strong>Neo-Calvinist John Piper,<\/strong><em> &#8216;Spectacular sins: And their global purpose&#8217;<\/em>, Wheaton:Crossway, 2008, p. 24).<\/p>\n<p>Please check:\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thebereancall.org\/content\/june-2002-q-and-a-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Is God the author of sin?<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">3\/<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Holy Spirit<\/span><\/strong> is the third Person of the Trinity <span style=\"color: #800000;\">not a force<\/span>, whose ministry is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ.\u00a0 He accomplishes this ministry by convicting individuals of their sin, by regenerating, sealing, and indwelling the believer at the moment of conversion (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Ephesians-1-13\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eph. 1:13<\/a>), &amp; by empowering the Christian for godly living and service.\u00a0 (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/John-16-7_16-15\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">John 16:7-15<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Titus-3-5\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tit. 3:5<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/1-Corinthians-6-19\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">1 Cor. 6:19<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/1-Corinthians-12-13\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">1 Cor. 12:13<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Jehovah&#8217;s Witnesses, &amp; some Hebrew Roots among others, believe the Holy Spirit is not a person but God&#8217;s force or power.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>4\/<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> <strong>The Son<\/strong><\/span> became incarnate (flesh) (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/John-1-1_1-14\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">John 1:1-3,14<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20221224012645\/https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/1-Timothy-3-16\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">1st Timothy 3:16<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Colossians-2-9\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Colossians 2:9<\/a>). Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/John-3-16\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">John 3:16<\/a>). He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary (<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220517112446\/https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Matthew-1-18_1-25\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Matthew 1:18-25<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Mormons, Jehovah&#8217;s Witnesses &amp; others believe Jesus is not God but that he was created by God. Mormons also teach Jesus is the brother of Satan.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">5\/<\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> Christ&#8217;s Deity<\/span><\/strong>, 100% God &amp; 100% man. Jesus is Almighty God (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/John-1-1_1-14\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">John 1:1-3,14<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/John-10-33\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">John 10:33<\/a>;<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220817175213\/https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Hebrews-1-8\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Heb.1:8<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20221224012645\/https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/1-Timothy-3-16\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">1st Timothy 3:16<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220617173432\/https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Revelation-1-8\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Revelation 1:8<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Gnostics, Masons, Mormons, Jehovah Witness, some in the Word of Faith movement &amp; the New Apostolic Reformation reject this doctrine (e.g.<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20160305223108\/http:\/\/bethelsozo.blogspot.com\/2013\/06\/updated-gnostic-heresyan-interesting.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Bill Johnson<\/a>) deny Jesus was fully God &amp; fully man when He came to earth.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">6\/<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Jesus&#8217; sinless life<\/span><\/strong> and perfection (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/2-Corinthians-5-21\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2 Corinthians 5:21<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/1-Peter-2-21_2-22\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">1st Peter 2:21-22<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Hebrews-4-15\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hebrews 4:15<\/a>) even when carrying our sins to the cross. NAR &amp; Word of Faith&#8217;s teachers say Jesus became sin on the cross, took the nature of Satan &amp; He needed to be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=sXRmGmsDnTo\">born again<\/a>. \u201c<em>Hear this! He who is the nature of God <strong>became the nature of Satan<\/strong> when he became sin!<\/em>\u201d (Benny Hinn, Trinity Broadcasting Network, December 1, 1990). \u201c<em>The righteousness of God was made to be sin. <\/em><strong><em>He accepted the sin nature of Satan in His own spirit<\/em>.\u201d<\/strong> (Kenneth Copeland, \u201c<em>What Happened from the Cross to the Throne<\/em>,\u201d 1990, audiotape #02-0017, side 2). This teaching is really from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ministryhelps.com\/what-happened-for-the-cross-to-the-throne-cd-set-kenyon-p-806.html\">E.W Kenyon<\/a>, <span class=\"a-size-base review-text\">(A Gnostic preacher who studied metaphysical &amp; mind science, and mixed it with Christianity who influenced these <a href=\"http:\/\/cristolaverdad.com\/?p=6681\">Movements<\/a>).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>7\/<\/strong><\/span> <strong>Christ atonement<\/strong>, the substitutionary sacrifice of Christ (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/2-Corinthians-5-21\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2 Corinthians 5:21<\/a>) who died <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">for our sins<\/span> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/1-Peter-1-18_1-19\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">1st Peter 1:18-19<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Hebrews-Chapter-9\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hebrews 9:12,22-24<\/a>), according to the Scriptures <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">available <strong>to all<\/strong><\/span><strong> who receives Him,<\/strong> not a few elected ones. Jesus is the Savior for all mankind (Isaiah 53:1-12, Isaiah 62:11, Matthew 1:21, John 3:16 &amp; 4:42, Romans 5:6-11, 1 Timothy 2:5-10):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cFor therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, <strong>who is the Saviour of <span style=\"color: #993300;\">ALL<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\"> men<\/span><span style=\"color: #993300;\">,<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">specially of those that<span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong> believe<\/strong><\/span><\/span><strong>.<\/strong>\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/1-Timothy-4-10\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">1st Timothy 4:10<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold <strong>the Lamb of God, which taketh away<\/strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\"> the sin of the <strong>world<\/strong><\/span><strong>&#8220;<\/strong> .<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/John-1-29\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">John 1:29<\/a><\/p>\n<p>See also: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/1-John-2-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">1 John 2:2<\/a> , <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/2-Peter-3-9\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2 Peter 3:9<\/a>,\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210709192038\/https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Matthew-23-37\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Matt. 23:37,<\/a> , etc.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>-The <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20230420231922\/https:\/\/www.sgbcmodesto.com\/Bryson.%20THE%20FIVE%20POINTS%20OF%20CALVINISM_%20WEIGHED%20AND%20FOUND%20WANTING.pdf\">five points<\/a> of Calvinism makes changes to the Gospel of Salvation. They say this system of theology was reaffirmed by the<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Synod_of_Dort\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Synod of Dort<\/a><\/strong> in 1619 as the <strong>doctrine of salvation<\/strong>. They reject the sacrifice of Christ is for all men (e.g. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.examiningcalvinism.com\/files\/RollCall\/Piper.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">John Piper<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.examiningcalvinism.com\/files\/RollCall\/MacArthur.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">John Mac Arthur<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.examiningcalvinism.com\/files\/RollCall\/Sproul.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">R.C Sproul<\/a>, David Platt, etc).\u00a0 Calvinists teach unconditional (selective)<strong> election<\/strong>&#8211; God before the world preselected certain individuals unto salvation. They also teach <strong>limited atonement<\/strong>&#8211; <strong>Christ\u2019s redeeming work<\/strong> was intended to save<strong> only the elect<\/strong>.\u00a0 &#8211; If\u00a0Calvinism were correct, then it would mean God created the majority of the world\u2019s inhabitants (past, present, &amp; future ) simply to\u00a0 send them to hell\u00a0 without having a chance to be saved. (Not Good News but &#8216;Bad News&#8217; to the majority of humanity). Or, are we born again and then put our faith in Christ? This also is extra biblical,\u00a0 made up to support their doctrine of election .<\/p>\n<p>In the case of Catholics, Mormons, Jehovah&#8217;s Witnesses, Seventh Day Adventist, etc. they believe in <strong>works<\/strong> for salvation.\u00a0 They all have works, have nice charismatic teachers, that could be sincere, but mix truth with error &amp; many times this teachers may sound good. But don&#8217;t let their passion persuade you, we need to go deeper than that and make sure that what <strong>everybody<\/strong> teaches is according with the bible (sound doctrine), because some errors are very subtle but dangerous. &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/1-Thessalonians-5-21\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">1st Thessalonians 5:21<\/a>\u00a0 states: \u201c<span id=\"en-AKJV-29643\" class=\"text 1Thess-5-21\">Prove (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bibletools.org\/index.cfm\/fuseaction\/Lexicon.show\/ID\/G1381\/mimetes.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">G1381<\/a>= <strong>examine, <\/strong>test ) <strong>all<\/strong> things; hold fast that which is good.<\/span>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It is important please not to take any comments above as personal attacks, but rather, to allow them <span style=\"color: #800000;\">to motivate us to further Bible study<\/span> &amp; to continue examining all things we learn carefully. Any doctrine claiming to be based on the Bible <strong>must be carefully checked against the Bible.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>-If any church leader or teachers who claims to be a Christian <strong>rejects or changes any of these <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">foundational<\/span> doctrines<\/strong> above, then he&#8217;s causing <strong>division<\/strong> &amp; according to the Word of God\u00a0 he needs to be <strong>avoided<\/strong>,(<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210624200315\/https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Romans-16-17_16-18\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rom.16:17<\/a>).\u00a0 But if the person is unsaved, was taught unsound doctrine or is a babe in Christ, then he\/she needs to be taught\/discipled in the love of Christ. As believers in Jesus Christ, it is God\u2019s command that we love Him, love one another, and love those who are not believers. We are to love even our enemies. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Matthew-5-43_5-48\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mathew 5:44<\/a>).
