{"id":12338,"date":"2023-11-10T08:37:37","date_gmt":"2023-11-10T13:37:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cristolaverdad.com\/?p=12338"},"modified":"2026-01-15T21:06:38","modified_gmt":"2026-01-16T02:06:38","slug":"the-land-god-gave-to-abraham-his-seed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/cristolaverdad.com\/?p=12338","title":{"rendered":"The Land God gave to Abraham &#038; his Seed"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"seriesmeta\">This entry is part 3 of 6 in the series <a href=\"http:\/\/cristolaverdad.com\/?series=abrahams-seed\" class=\"series-52\" title=\"Abraham's Seed\">Abraham's Seed<\/a><\/div><p>Today many people speacially some evangelical Christians think that the land God gave to Abraham &amp; his seed, belongs to a different group of people, who <strong>deny Jesus Christ (the Seed)!<\/strong>\u00a0 I want to show you some Bible verses &amp; also a very interesting <a href=\"https:\/\/ccel.org\/ccel\/schaff\/anf01\/Page_562.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter from Irenaeus<\/a> concerning the promise God made to Abraham <strong>about inheriting the land<\/strong>, and you please make your own conclusions.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gotquestions.org\/Irenaeus-of-Lyons.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Irenaeus<\/a> (AD 130\u2013202) was the bishop of Lugdunum (Today Lyons) France, an Apologist, &amp; leading Christian theologian of the<strong> 2nd century<\/strong>. He was born of Greek parents in Asia Minor, and was also a student of Polycarp (A disciple of the apostle John, instructed by the apostles, &amp; who was brought into contact with many who had seen Christ).<\/p>\n<p>Bishop &amp; historian<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20250727065144\/https:\/\/www.britannica.com\/biography\/Eusebius-of-Caesarea\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Eusebius<\/a> of Caesarea who wrote a history of the church in the 4th century, notes that\u00a0 Irenaeus, prior to his becoming bishop (He succeeded the martyred Pothinus as bishop of Lugdunum on AD 177), had served as a missionary to southern Gaul (France) and as a peacemaker among the churches of Asia Minor that had been disturbed by heresy.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; I clarify that this post has nothing to do with &#8216;<em>Replacement Theology<\/em>&#8216; which believes the Church replaced Israel, that (real) Jews are no longer God\u2019s chosen people, &amp; God <strong>does not<\/strong> have specific future plans for the nation of Israel, a theology we disagree with. Please see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Romans%2011&amp;version=AKJV;MEV;NKJV;RVR1960\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rom.11<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Scriptures teach us that <strong>the church<\/strong> is entirely a <span style=\"color: #800000;\">new creation<\/span> that came into being on the day of Pentecost, and will continue until it is taken to heaven at the rapture [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Eph.+1%3A9%E2%80%9311%3B+1+Thess.+4%3A13%E2%80%9317&amp;version=AKJV;MEV;NKJV;RVR1960\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eph. 1:9\u201311; 1 Thess. 4:13\u201317<\/a>]. After the rapture of the Church, God will deal again &amp; reveal Himself to His people of the Old Covenant, judgment of the nations will come &amp; <strong>only<\/strong> <span style=\"color: #800000;\">a remnant<\/span>, <strong>1\/3<\/strong> of Israel (Zach.12-13) that survives the period of &#8216;Jacob&#8217;s Trouble&#8217; (Jer.30:7), will be <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">saved<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>No one is elected\/chosen for salvation because of race, culture, etc. Salvation is only trough <strong>faith<\/strong> in the Messiah, Jesus Christ. Romans chapter 9 (also 10 &amp; 11) talks about the &#8216;elected&#8217; nation of Israel, not elected for salvation (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Deuteronomy+7%3A7-9&amp;version=AKJV;MEV;NKJV;RVR1960\">Deut. 7:6-9<\/a>), but in context of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Romans+9&amp;version=AKJV;MEV;NKJV;RVR1960\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Romans 9<\/a> (applying <a href=\"http:\/\/www.compellingtruth.org\/biblical-exegesis.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">exegesis<\/a>), chosen <strong>for God\u2019s purpose<\/strong>, to bring the law, the Scriptures (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Romans%203%3A1-2&amp;version=AKJV,NKJV,MEV,OJB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ro.3:1-2<\/a>), the covenants, the promise,\u00a0 <strong>the Messiah<\/strong>. Believers in Christ are also elected\/chosen for a purpose, to declare the goodness of God, [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1+peter+2%3A9&amp;version=AKJV;MEV;NKJV;RVR1960\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1 Peter 2:9<\/a>] through Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<span id=\"en-ASV-334\" class=\"text Gen-13-15\">for all <strong>the land<\/strong> which thou seest, to thee will I give it, <span style=\"color: #800000;\">and to thy <strong>seed<\/strong><\/span> <strong>for ever<\/strong>.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Genesis%2013%3A15&amp;version=AKJV,MEV,ASV,RVA,OJB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[Gen.13:15].<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;that in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>and thy seed<\/strong><\/span> shall possess the gate of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #800000; text-decoration: underline;\">his<\/span><\/span> enemies; [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Gen%2022%3A17&amp;version=AKJV;RVA;OJB;ASV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gen.22:17<\/a>].<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Blessed are <span style=\"color: #800000;\">the Meek<\/span>, for they<span class=\"text Matt-5-5\"><span class=\"woj\"> shall<strong> inherit the <\/strong><\/span><span class=\"woj\"><strong>earth<\/strong> (land)&#8221;.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0 [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Matthew%205%3A5&amp;version=AKJV;MEV;NKJV;RVR1960#fen-NKJV-23240a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Matthew 5:5<\/a>].<span id=\"en-ASV-334\" class=\"text Gen-13-15\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<span style=\"color: #800000;\">Now the promises were made to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Abraham and <strong>his Seed<\/strong><\/span><strong>.<\/strong> He does not say, \u201cand to seed<strong>s<\/strong>,\u201d meaning many, but \u201cand to your Seed,\u201d meaning <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>one<\/strong>, <\/span>who is <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Christ<\/span>.<\/strong><\/span> 17 And this I say, that the law, which came four hundred and thirty years later,<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"> does not annul<\/span> the covenant that was ratified <strong>by God<\/strong> <strong>in Christ<\/strong>, so as to nullify <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>the promise<\/strong><\/span>. 18 For<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\"> <strong>if<\/strong><\/span> the<span style=\"color: #800000; text-decoration: underline;\"> inheritance<\/span> <strong>comes from the law<\/strong>, it no longer comes from<span style=\"color: #800000; text-decoration: underline;\"> the promise<\/span><\/span>. But <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">God gave it to Abraham through <span style=\"color: #800000; text-decoration: underline;\">a promise<\/span><\/span>&#8220;. [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Galatians+3%3A15-29&amp;version=AKJV;MEV;NKJV;RVR1960\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gal.3:16-18<\/a>].<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all <strong>one in Christ Jesus<\/strong>. <span id=\"en-MEV-29132\" class=\"text Gal-3-29\"><sup class=\"versenum\">\u00a0<\/sup><span style=\"color: #800000;\">If you are Christ\u2019s, then you are Abraham\u2019s seed, and<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> heirs<\/span><\/strong><\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> according to the promise<\/span>.<\/span> [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Galatians+3%3A+28-29&amp;version=AKJV;MEV;NKJV;RVR1960\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gal.3:28-29<\/a>].<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-MEV-29204\" class=\"text Gal-6-15\"><sup class=\"versenum\">\u00a0&#8220;<\/sup>For <span style=\"color: #800000;\">in Christ Jesus<\/span> neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, <span style=\"color: #800000;\">but <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a new creation<\/span><\/span>. &#8221; [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Galatians+6%3A11-18&amp;version=AKJV;MEV;NKJV;RVR1960\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gal.6:15<\/a>].<\/span> <span id=\"en-MEV-29205\" class=\"text Gal-6-16\"><\/span><span id=\"yiv2087549341ydp7ac4c658yiv0270120673ydpef3dc89cen-NKJV-28791\" class=\"yiv2087549341ydp7ac4c658yiv0270120673ydpef3dc89ctext yiv2087549341ydp7ac4c658yiv0270120673ydpef3dc89c1Cor-16-14\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<span id=\"en-MEV-30181\" class=\"text Heb-11-8\">By faith Abraham<\/span> . . . 13 <span id=\"en-MEV-30186\" class=\"text Heb-11-13\">These all died <span style=\"color: #800000;\">in faith <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not<\/span> having received the promises<\/span>, but having<strong> seen them from afar<\/strong> were assured of them, embraced them, and confessed that they were <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">strangers and pilgrims on the earth<\/span><\/strong>. <\/span>&#8221; [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Hebrews+11%3A1-13&amp;version=AKJV;MEV;NKJV;RVR1960\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Heb. 11:6-13<\/a>].<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>2. Thus, then,<span style=\"color: #800000;\"> the promise<\/span><strong> of God, which He gave to Abraham, <\/strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">remains stedfast<\/span><strong>.<\/strong> For thus He said: \u201c<em>Lift up thine eyes, and look from this place where now thou art, towards the north and south, and east and west. For all the earth which thou seest, I will give to thee and to thy seed, even for ever.<\/em>\u201d [Genesis 13:13-14]. And again He says, \u201c<em>Arise, and go through the length and breadth of the land, since I will give it unto thee<\/em>;\u201d [Genesis 13:17] and [yet] he did not receive an inheritance in it, not even a footstep, but was always a stranger and a pilgrim therein. [Acts 7:5; Hebrews 11:13] And upon the death of Sarah his wife, when the Hittites were willing to bestow upon him a place where he might bury her, h<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">e declined it as a gift<\/span>, but bought the burying-place (giving for it four hundred talents of silver) from Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite. {Gen.13:11]. Thus did<strong> he await patiently the promise of God<\/strong>, and was unwilling to appear to receive from men, what God had promised to give him, when He said again to him as follows: \u201c<em>I will give this land to thy seed, from the river of Egypt even unto the great river Euphrates<\/em>.\u201d [Gen.15:13]. If, then, God promised him the inheritance of the land, yet he did not receive it during all the time of his sojourn there, it must be, that <strong>together with<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> his seed<\/span><\/strong>, <span style=\"color: #800000;\">that is, those who fear God and believe in Him<\/span>, he shall receive it at the resurrection of the just. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #800000;\">For his seed is the Church<\/span>, which receives the<strong> adoption to God through the Lord<\/strong>, as John the Baptist said: \u201c<em>For God is able from the stones to raise up children to Abraham<\/em>.\u201d [Luke 3:8]. Thus also the apostle says in the Epistle to the Galatians: \u201c<em>But <strong>ye, brethren<\/strong>, as Isaac was, <strong>are the children of the promise<\/strong><\/em>.\u201d [Gal.4:28] And again, in the same Epistle, he plainly declares that they who have believed in Christ do receive Christ, the promise to Abraham thus saying, \u201c<em>The promises were spoken to Abraham, and to his seed. Now He does not say, And of seeds, as if [He spake] of many, but <strong>as of one<\/strong>, And to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>thy seed, which is Christ<\/strong><\/span><\/em><strong>.<\/strong>\u201d [Gal.3:16]. And again, confirming his former words, he says, \u201c<em><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Even as Abraham <strong>believed God<\/strong>, and it was accounted to him for righteousness<\/span>. Know ye therefore, that they which are <strong>of faith<\/strong> are the children of Abraham. But the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, declared to Abraham beforehand, That in thee shall <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>all<\/strong> nations<\/span> be blessed. So then they <strong>which are of faith<\/strong> shall be blessed with faithful Abraham.<\/em>\u201d [Gal.3:6, etc.]. Thus, <span style=\"color: #800000;\">then, they <strong>who are of faith<\/strong> shall be blessed with faithful Abraham, and <strong>these are the children of Abraham<\/strong><\/span><strong>.<\/strong> Now God made promise of the earth to Abraham and <strong>his seed<\/strong>; yet neither Abraham nor <span style=\"color: #800000;\">his <strong>seed<\/strong>, that is, those who are <strong>justified by faith<\/strong><\/span>, do now receive any inheritance in it; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #800000; text-decoration: underline;\">but they shall<\/span><strong> <span style=\"color: #800000; text-decoration: underline;\">receive it<\/span> at the <span style=\"color: #800000; text-decoration: underline;\">resurrection<\/span> of the just<\/strong>.<\/span> For God is true and faithful; and<strong> on this account<\/strong> He said, \u201c<em>Blessed are <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>the meek,<\/strong><\/span> for they shall inherit the earth<\/em>.\u201d [Matt.5:5]\u00a0 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/ccel.org\/ccel\/irenaeus\/against_heresies_v\/anf01.ix.vii.xxxiii.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ireneaus &#8220;<em>Against Heresies<\/em>&#8221; Book 5, Chapter 32<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>But if someone still want to believe that land is only for the descendants of Abraham <span style=\"color: #800000;\">in the flesh<\/span>, then we need to research to find out that most of the Jews living in Israel today are not of the same blood (Semite), or even of the<span style=\"color: #800000;\"> <strong>faith<\/strong> of Abraham<\/span>, the majority are secular people, many others are followers of the Talmud &amp; kabbalah (a diff. faith) &amp; only a <a href=\"https:\/\/video.twimg.com\/ext_tw_video\/1713613107858169856\/pu\/vid\/avc1\/1280x720\/EldJXlH1_WFIupJ5.mp4?tag=12\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">minority<\/a> are followers of the Old Testament. Please see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+8%3A33-59&amp;version=AKJV;MEV;NKJV;RVR1960\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">John 8:37-44,<\/a> &amp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Romans+9&amp;version=AKJV;MEV;NKJV;RVA;OJB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Rom.9:6-7<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"module--translations-translatedtext js-module--translations-translatedtext is-placeholder\" data-size=\"s\">According to the Bible we must <strong>do good<\/strong> to<span style=\"color: #800000;\"> ALL<\/span> people, &amp; mainly to our brothers and sisters in the faith. &#8220;<em>Therefore, as we have opportunity,<strong> let us<span style=\"color: #800000;\"> do good to all<\/span><\/strong>, and <strong>especially to those of the household of <span style=\"color: #800000;\">faith<\/span><\/strong><\/em>&#8221; (Gal. 6:10). Stay informed about the persecuted Church worldwide and remember them in your prayers.<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div data-size=\"s\">\n<p>The war we see today in Middle East is preparing the way for the Antichrist to confirm a &#8216;<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">peace<\/span>&#8216; covenant for a &#8216;week&#8217; of years, convince the entire world a <strong>one world religion<\/strong> is needed &amp; for the 3rd <strong>temple<\/strong> to be built.\u00a0 There are some extremists (counterfeits) in all 3 monotheistic religions, using the Scriptures to excuse atrocities, so the enemy&#8217;s plan is for the world to despise God, so be careful who you follow. Some are saying this war<a href=\"https:\/\/video.twimg.com\/amplify_video\/1728550930491359232\/vid\/avc1\/576x1024\/6Pt2g5vvh8dFxcNB.mp4?tag=14\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> is caused because of different religion<\/a> but this isn&#8217;t true, &amp; their main goal is to make you doubt &amp; separate you from God. I believe Christianity will be persecuted next.
